During the event, Markle showed an act of kindness that went viral. A woman seated behind her and Prince Harry during the General Assembly started coughing, and the Duchess turned around and gave her a water bottle.

Prince Harry also gushed about his spouse during his keynote speech, wherein he touched on Mandela's legacy and the connection he has to the African continent:

"I've always found hope on the continent. For most of my life, it has been my lifeline, a place where I have found peace and healing time and time again. It's where I've felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife."

BODY LANGUAGE EXPERT'S ANALYSIS

Some eyebrow-raising moments during the assembly led to social media scrutiny. When Prince Harry and Markle were seated in the front row, all eyes were on their body language.

The Duke was seated with his hands on his legs, genuinely smiling at his wife, who also beamed. However, that mood changed in seconds.

Expert Jesus Enrique Rosas highlighted the cringe-worthy moment on his YouTube channel, "The Body Language Guy," where the Duchess could be spotted grabbing her husband's hand.

Rosas emphasized that when Markle touched Prince Harry's hand, his facial expression changed entirely. He looked away and hid his face from his spouse.

The author explained the way the former actress grabbed the prince's hand displayed controlling behavior. Subsequently, the Duke let go of her hand while facing away from her.

In reaction to that, Markle then chose to double claw Prince Harry after he showed that he did not want to be touched. It was a gesture Rosas described as a show of unhappiness that he let go of her hand the first time.

There was another incident following Prince Harry's keynote speech. He returned to his seat and engaged with another guest seated on his left side. The two men exchanged words which led to them sharing a laugh while shaking hands.

Markle noticed their interaction and slightly placed her hand on her husband's back. Prince Harry had turned away from her while speaking to the man beside him.

The Duchess continued to place her hand on his back more than once as she alluded to him to give her attention. Rosas described her behavior as "needy."

Towards the end of the assembly, Markle was the first to stand up from her seat while Prince Harry was still conversing with the man beside him.

According to Rosas, that meant she ordered the British native to leave the premises. He explained that their interaction in the public space was telling of their dynamics behind closed doors, that what she wants, she gets.

Royal fans have expressed sympathy for Prince Harry following the clip that went viral during his appearance at the General Assembly alongside his wife. One person commented on the clip on YouTube, writing:

"I actually feel sorry for Harry at this moment."

Meanwhile, a third said Markle's behavior was completely unacceptable and that Prince Harry should stop allowing her to mistreat him like that:

"It's incredible that the Meg is so insecure that she cannot stand for him to pay attention to anyone except her. The thing is, every time I see her pulling and tugging at Harry to get him to do her command, I feel sorry for him."

Other users slammed Markle's behavior on social media, calling her a narcissist. One person, who claimed to be a Narcissist personality disorder survivor, stated that when Markle held and touched Prince Harry consistently, it showed that she owned him.

"As a survivor of NPD abuse, I can tell you this is exactly what it is like being in public with a narcissist," the individual reflected, adding seeing the prince going through that reminded her of her own harrowing experience.

Another person noted how bizarre the situation was, stating that it was clear that the Duchess of Sussex was controlling her spouse.

"This is so crazy!! She's so blatantly controlling. I mean, she claws at him and gropes him constantly! It's just very weird!!!" said another user.

In addition, one other YouTube user mentioned the interaction between the duo was concerning. The individual explained that the way the royal couple carried themselves during the formal event was more like watching a parent attempting to reprimand their child.

"Creepy isn't descriptive enough. That control is positively worrying and could be used by a mother to a child," said the social media user.
