Fans Slam Meghan for Acting like 'Princess' & Wearing Dress That Resembles Kate's on a Date with Harry

Being a royal has its perks, but being the couple that left the royal family has left Prince Harry and Meghan Markle under heavy public scrutiny. They are heavily judged for everything they do, down to how they act at dinner.

While Meghan and Harry are public figures, they value their privacy and rarely leave their Montecito home. However, when the couple does venture out, they are under the watchful eye of the public and their fans.

In June 2022, Meghan and Harry decided to go out for dinner a little further from their home in New York City. It is a well-known fact that the couple enjoys their privacy so much that they call ahead and request an utterly secluded table in the restaurant.

However, at this particular dinner, it was simply impossible for the restaurant to accommodate this request, and the couple had to make do sitting in the only area that the restaurant had to offer them.

This has led to the public calling Meghan "The Princess of Montecito." Meghan's former co-star, Gregg Sulkin, has mentioned that while the public knows Meghan as a princess, she acts the part in real-life, too.

Sulkin said that even before Meghan married Harry, she acted like a princess. Meghan has often been under scrutiny for how she acts in public, and since marrying into the royal family, she has been under even more scrutiny.

However, it was a recent event that landed Meghan in news headlines this week, and unsurprisingly, not for a flattering reason. Everything from her behavior to her choice of outfit was deemed to be incorrect by onlookers.

Although Meghan and Harry's royal status is theoretically meaningless in the United States, many have noticed that Meghan still acts like royalty in Montecito. She exhibited this behavior on a recent dinner outing.

The couple went out to a local eatery called Locanda Verde, where Meghan requested a large, private, indoor area equipped to seat 50 people. However, only she and three other people, including Prince Harry, occupied that area.

The eatery told her that it had already been booked, and she would have to be seated inside the eatery in a much more public area. However, the couple ensured that there was plenty of security around the restaurant.

While they were at the restaurant, Meghan was friendly and greeted people who were celebrating their birthdays, sending them good wishes. The eyewitness that noticed this also mentioned that the couple seemed to be in high spirits.

However, the couple ensured that their security told other patrons in the restaurant that if they tried to take any photos or videos of the couple as they dined, they would be asked to leave immediately.

The couple were dining with two other people, who the eyewitness said seemed to be close friends of the pair. The same eyewitness noticed what each of them ate and noted it.

They are said to have eaten Sardinian sheep's milk ricotta, steak tartare, Piemontese, ravioli, and a few other dishes. They also reportedly sipped on red wine.

When the couple left the restaurant, they did so hand in hand. However, while Meghan sported a grin for the paparazzi who were outside waiting for them, Harry had a much more serious expression.

While Meghan's behavior was under inspection that night, it was not the only thing fans noticed about the star. Many fans judged her outfit precisely because it was similar to what Kate Middleton had worn in the past.

At the dinner, Meghan wore a chic black jumpsuit with white trim. However, it didn't escape eagle-eyed fans that the white trim on top of the black jumpsuit was almost identical to a dress Kate Middleton had once worn.

Many believed that Meghan would never be an actual princess or reach Kate's level.

Meghan received criticism for not being original from fans of Kate, while fans of Meghan came to her defense, saying that she looked beautiful and that Meghan knows how to modernize an outfit.
