Many may know Laura Linney as Wendy Byrde, the wife, mother, and conniving political lobbyist from the Ozarks. Beyond the award-winning Netflix series "Ozark," Linney had already built an impressive resume onscreen and onstage.

Nevertheless, "Ozark" is what shot her to a new level of fame. Within this territory comes much curiosity from fans who want to know more about Linney's life when she isn't in front of the lens.

2004: LAURA LINNEY AND MARC SCHAUER MEET

Long before they exchanged their vows and met, Linney was going to Telluride, Colorado, for a 2004 film festival. This festival just so happened to be taking place in Schauer's hometown. Schauer was allocated as Linney's festival host while she was there.

She would have never believed she would receive this honor and would have thought it crazy had anyone mentioned the possibility.

When they inevitably crossed paths, Linney said she instantly developed feelings for him. The actress felt it was something close to love at first sight. By 2007, they were engaged, and in 2009, Linney and Schauer hosted their wedding ceremony outdoors.

2010: LAURA LINNEY OPENS UP ABOUT THEIR FIRST MEETING

When she met her current husband, Linney spoke about how they appeared to get along quite well. She recalled the moment, saying:

"I remember looking at him at one point and going: ‘Am I attracted to this man? Am I attracted to my handler? What is going on?"'

Linney stated that these feelings came as a surprise. The actress remembers calming herself down over these unexpected emotions.

She tried to positively approach the new feelings, recalling the nature of her inner monologue: "How nice to be feeling something. Something's waking up. How great." She later expressed, "We fell very hard for each other very quickly."

2014: LAURA LINNEY AND MARC SCHAUER WELCOME A CHILD

Linney was 49 years old in 2014 when she gave birth to Bennett Armistead Schauer. However, before she gave birth, she remained exceedingly private about the baby.

Beyond her natural inclination to remain low-profile, she also wanted to make sure the child was born first, fearing she may lose it. The actress attended award shows and events in bump-concealing outfits, with no one suspecting she was pregnant.

When she eventually gave birth, it sparked an inner transformation. Speaking about how motherhood had this impact on her, she expressed:

"Motherhood changes you on a cellular level. It literally infuses the cells of your body, and they behave differently. Fatigue is different. Joy is different. Fear is different. Anxiety is different. All of your emotions become more potent."

She expressed that she is deeply appreciative of being a mother and wishes she could spend more time with Bennett. However, balancing work and parenting is challenging, with the actress saying: "You just do the best you can."

WHO IS MARC SCHAUER?

As mentioned, Schauer was assigned as a host for this future wife at a festival in Telluride, Colorado. The now-husband and father was a real estate agent who assisted with the festival.

He was a V.I.P host when he and his future wife met during the festival. He is still a real estate agent as well as a drug counselor.

LAURA LINNEY WAS HONORED WITH A STAR ON THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

On July 5, 2022, a 58-year-old Linney was dressed in a graceful navy-blue-midi dress while attending the unveiling ceremony of her Hollywood Walk of fame star. This honor was presented to her by a previous co-star Holland Taylor and the "Ozark" showrunner Chris Mundy.

Ecstatic, Linney expressed that it was an incredibly overwhelming moment for her. She stated that she would have never believed she would receive this honor and would have thought it crazy had anyone mentioned the possibility to her.

The actress continued that every day she is taken aback by the exhilaration and embrace of the city of Los Angeles, the entertainment business, the industry, and the people who live there. The four-time Emmy Award winner's star was placed next to her "Ozark" co-star Jason Bateman's star.

The specific day, July 25, was also proclaimed as "Laura Linney Day" in Tinseltown. Using this newfound power, she stated that if this day is to be named after her, she would like everyone to express compassion for those who struggle with mental illness and addiction.
