Kyler Murray's Parents: Missy and Kevin, were a big part of his decision to become a football player. Here are details about the way the pair raised him.

Kyler Murray is an American football quarterback who got into football as a teenager, but before he focused on it as a career, he was believed to have a promising career in baseball.

When he chose to pursue a career in football, many thought it was not very smart because he did not exactly look the part, but he knew what he wanted, and that's what he pursued.

He played briefly with the Texas A&M Aggies, then played college football at Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Sooners, where he bagged the Heisman Trophy in his junior year. He was drafted into the NFL in 2019 as the first overall by the Cardinals, and he remains with them even now.

In the NFL, Kyler is known as a sorcerer who can somehow see several moves ahead — something many has to watch filmed football games for.

The talented sportsman learned all the necessary skills to become a great player from his father, Kevin Murray, a quarterback who played for Texas A&M for about three years.

His mother, who has roots in South Korea, was his cheerleader in those times, and over the years, she and his father have become his greatest supporters.

With his ability to see several moves ahead, Kyler has never felt the need to watch filmed games to learn strategy. But it seems that will no longer be tolerated because he just signed a contract extension with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.

The extension included an addendum that demands that he study film for four hours per week during the season to keep the deal valid. Refusal to commit to the addendum will result in a breach of the contract, which was closed for $230 million.

Kyler Murray's parents are Kevin Murray and Misun Henderson. His father, Kevin Murray, used to be a quarterback at Texas A&M University.

Kevin Murray was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 11th Round of 1982 MLB Draft and played one season for their Pikeville team.

From there, he played football at Texas A&M, where as a quarterback, he threw for 6,506 yards and 48 touchdowns throughout four seasons.

Despite his achievements, Kevin never got drafted into the NFL; he became a free agent with the San Francisco 49ers and the Calgary Stampeders, after which he retired due to injury.

Kevin started teaching his son how to throw a ball at seven, and Kyler excelled at it just like he did at chess — a game he once claimed helped him with his gameplay. Kevin has remained by his son's side supporting his endeavors in football sports while fulfilling his role as a father.

Last year, Kyler celebrated his father on father's day by sharing a video that captured them sharing a man hug, and it reminded everyone of just how close the two are.

Kevin's wife, Misun, is a woman of Korean descent. Her mother is a full-fledged Korean national, while her father is a US Navy officer, Msgt Carl W Henderson Sr.

In the 1990s, Misun held down a job as an executive assistant at Skyway Freight Systems; then, she joined Key Transportations Services before getting a job as direct support to Verizon's vice-president of strategy. Misun shares a strong bond with her son; like his father, she is one of his strongest supporters.

The talented sportsman has been known to share pictures of her, both old and new, on his social media with endearing captions that communicate his love for her.

Misun's bond with her son is second only to the one she shares with his father, Kevin, which is evident in their Instagram posts. This July, Misun shared a montage of photos that documented their trip to Paris, and their love was unmistakable.

One of the pictures captured the lovely couple packing on the PDA in front of the Eiffel tower; another saw them posing together with their son. They all looked happy, and it's clear the family has never been better.

Many are awed by the progress Kyler has made so far in the world of football, but for those who are curious about how and why he has been able to pull off the fantastic feats people know him for, Gill Brandt has the perfect answer.

In a tweet Brandt shared in February 2019, he credited Kyler's growth to his parent's unwavering support for him. Brandt is right; as a child learning the ropes, Kyler had his father as a coach, and his mother supported him in any way she saw fit. Speaking about his father's influence in his life, Kyler once said:

"He taught me how to throw the ball when I was seven years old. I definitely wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him teaching me the game of football."

In his social media posts, Kyler is fond of calling his mom by her nickname "Missy," and he never fails to give her credit where it is due. For example, during his acceptance speech for the Heisman trophy, he referred to her as his "best friend" and expressed his love for her in front of millions of viewers.

Misun and her husband will continue to support their son as he strives to be the best he can be, and fans can't wait to see him break even more records with his extraordinary mastery of the football sport.
