PLAYBOI CARTI'S TATTOO TO HONOR VIRGIL ABLOH

People often get tattoos to honor family members and close friends, and Playboi Carti is no different. In mid-July 2022, netizens noticed new ink on his left forearm, a few inches above his elbow.

Abloh sadly died in November 2021 after a long and private battle with cancer. He was such an influential designer in the hip-hop community that other musicians, including Drake and Kanye West, have said his name in their songs.

Carti's relationship with Abloh was close as he even wore the clothes he designed at multiple fashion events, including Abloh's first menswear collection for Louis Vuitton in 2018.

THE MOST MEMORABLE PLAYBOI CARTI'S TATTOOS AND MEANING

Abloh's face outline is not the only tattoo Playboi Carti has. His arms, neck, and torso have multiple tattoos because he takes them seriously. About them, Carti said:

"It's a bunch of people that take tattoos seriously, just like they dedicate themselves to that. You got rock stars. Punks. You got emos. You got goths. With me, I'm just being myself."

However, Carti admitted he was not into getting ink on his face because of his "kind of big" birthmark. The rapper also said women keep asking him not to get face tattoos, and he listens to them.

However, fans noticed what looked like a Y-shaped tattoo next to his birthmark during his Wireless Festival show in London, England, on July 2, 2022.

One of the tattoos on Carti's neck is a V, which is also a tribute to another fashion brand: VLONE. Carti and Vlone have been collaborating for a while, and the rapper frequently wears clothes from the brand.

In Summer 2020, Playboi Carti got the face of John Simon Ritchie, better known as Sid Vicious, tattooed on his forearm. Carti, who wants people to think of him as a vampire, pointed out that Sid Vicious was his alter ego.

Carti also has a few animal tattoos on his body, including a butterfly on his chest. He has used the imagery of the insect to promote his tours for years and has pieces of jewelry with butterflies. Carti even had a brief beef with Travis Scott after he also started using butterflies in his career.

Iggy Azalea's ex-partner also has two rabbit tattoos: one from "Donnie Darko" on his right hand and a Playboy logo on his neck. The "Donnie Darko" one is a tribute to the film as he is inspired by movies, while the Playboy rabbit resonates with his stage name.

Carti also likes Mickey Mouse, thus the tattoo of Disney's most famous character on his ribs next to the word "Alone." The rapper is not shy about getting tattoos to show his admiration for the things he likes the most, which is why he has many logos of his favorite bands.

His stomach has the Bad Religion symbol, while his left shoulder has ink of the HIM band. Carti also has one anarchy tattoo on his left shoulder and another on the right side of his chest. Still, the most repeated symbols on Carti's body are stars and crosses.

He has two upside-down crosses on each shoulder and one a few inches below his chest. The star tattoos are also on his left shoulder and chest, next to his ink of a crescent moon. Carti has what looks like a Globus cruciger on his right forearm.

His left hand has three heart shapes that look like tiny versions of the icon of the HIM band. The lower section of his stomach has a tattoo that looks like the demon Baphomet.

Tattoos are such an essential part of Carti's life that he even got some ink while working on his "Die Lit" album in Miami, Florida. He revealed he hired a tattoo artist to work for him while in the booth recording his songs.

IGGY AZALEA'S TATTOO HONORING HER AND PLAYBOI CARTI'S SON ONYX

Rap fans probably know that Playboi Carti was in a relationship with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The former couple dated for about two years and welcomed a son named Onyx Orion.

In April 2022, Azalea surprised her fans by sharing a photo of her latest tattoo, which she labeled her favorite and most special as it honored her son.

It showed Onyx depicted as a cherub with a banner with his name. Azalea also credited the Miami-based tattoo artist who created the piece, Lua Hills.

Despite her celebrity status, Azalea has kept most details of her son away from the spotlight as she doesn't want people to obsess over or "clown on" him just because they don't like her.
