Mescal Wasilewski: Everything We Know About 'Full House' Star Jodie Sweetin's Spouse
Jodie Sweetin's spouse, Mescal Wasilewski, has dedicated his career to helping people with addiction. Here's more about the "Full House" star's fourth husband.
Mescal Wasilewski officially became Jodie Sweetin's husband in July 2022, after they exchanged their vows in an intimate wedding ceremony.
Wasilewski was the actress' boyfriend for five years before tying the knot, and she couldn't be happier spending the rest of her life with him.
The couple's special day was celebrated at a Malibu home with Sweetin's two daughters, Zoie and Beatrix, and Hollywood colleagues, including Candace Cameron Bure and John Stamos.
"Mescal makes me feel absolutely comfortable and secure to shine as bright as I need to," the "Full House" star said. "He steps up and shows up for my girls, and we harmonize so well. He's really the best teammate I could ask for."
WHO IS MESCAL WASILEWSKI, JODIE SWEETIN'S HUSBAND?
Unlike his wife, Wasilewski chose a career away from the spotlight. After graduating from California State University, Northridge, in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in sociology and Hunder College in 2019 with a Master's degree in Social Work, he worked as a Companion/coach at M. Wasilewski Inc., New York.
He later became a primary therapist at the same company, where according to his LinkedIn profile, he continues to work. In October 2020, Wasilewski also became a primary therapist at Catalyst Recovery. He said of his career:
"I've worked in the field of addiction and mental health for over 20 years, helping to treat clients with a range of diagnoses and difficulties. Much of my work has been with those suffering from addiction and various mental health issues [...]."
Wasilewski had professional training in therapeutic modalities and experience treating patients with addictive behaviors. Aside from being trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), he has also mastered the 12 Step and harm-reduction modalities.
"If you're in need of a compassionate and patient guide through whatever difficulties you may be facing, I can help," he wrote in his profile.
Apart from his job to help others become the best version of themselves, Wasilewski is also a human rights activist and supporter of many movements and communities. He often uses his Instagram profile to raise awareness regarding pressing issues.
Previously, Wasilewski took it to Instagram to share his support for the LGBTQ+ community, whose members have the same rights, marriages, and happiness as human beings. "This is also true July thru May," he added, indicating that the celebration for pride does not end with one month alone.
Wasilewski also used his social media to advocate for women's right to abortion. He reposted certain things a man against abortion can do to be a better person, including getting a vasectomy, being accountable, and only having sexual intercourse with women who want children.
Beyond his advocacies, he is also a sports fan, supporting the Raiders football team since 1981. "I was 10 years old, and they were in the Super Bowl," he recalled. Back then, Wasilewski did not know much about American football and only liked the Raiders for their logo.
"Couple of years later, they to LA and solidified a lifetime love. John Madden wasn't even the coach of the Raiders when I became a fan, but he was Coach well after he left the team and started broadcasting," he added. "All you need to know about him is that the Madden football video game is still THE GAME when it comes to football games since 1988."
Although it is not known if Wasilewski plays the sport, he takes care of his health in other ways, such as staying away from nicotine. In 2021, he marked his 20th year since his last cigarette.
HOW LONG HAVE JODIE AND MESCAL BEEN TOGETHER?
Wasilewski and Sweetin began their romance in 2018, confirming their love through an Instagram post on Valentine's Day. They started a long-distance relationship with him living in Brooklyn, New York, and her in Los Angeles and remained the same for three and a half years.
Although they were apart most of their relationship, their love grew stronger daily. The duo never hid their feelings for each other, with Sweetin and Wasilewski often posting on Instagram. In one of the actress's posts, she said:
"Find someone who you can share this kind of love with. Someone who doesn't just show you they love you one day a year; Who isn't afraid to look silly when they tell you they love you [...]."
Her then-boyfriend also didn't shy away from posting about his feelings. "[Four] years ago today, you said yes to trying to make a long-distance relationship work. Honestly, never doubted we could, might have doubted if you'd want to for too long," he said.
Finally, in January 2022, Sweetin revealed that Wasilewski asked for her hand in marriage – and she said yes. The proposal happened before she turned 40, in what seemed like the best early birthday present she could receive.
BEFORE MESCAL, JODIE SWEETIN WAS MARRIED THREE TIMES. WHO ARE HER EX-HUSBANDS?
Before marrying Wasilewski, Jodie Sweetin had already walked down the aisle three times. Her first husband, Shaun Holguin, was a Los Angeles police officer who she stayed with for four years.
In 2007, she married her second husband, Cody Herpin, in Las Vegas. Together they had a daughter, Zoie, but they divorced in 2010. Sweetin's drug addiction became a problem in her first two marriages, but in her third marriage, the reason for divorce was undisclosed.

Sweetin married her third husband, Morty Coyle, in 2012 and welcomed a daughter, Beatrix, two years prior. However, their marriage also ended in divorce in 2015. Although her three marriages fell apart, fans are happy to know that the actress never gave up on love.
