Olivia Colman’s Husband: The Actress Instantly Knew She Would Marry Ed Sinclair When They First Met
It was love at first sight for Olivia Colman and her husband, Ed Sinclair. The couple met when they were 20 at university, and she knew he was the one for her.
Olivia Colman made a name for herself when she became an award-winning actress and producer and starred in movies such as "Tyrannosaur" in 2011, "The Favorite" in 2018, and "The Lost Daughter" in 2021.
She was born in Norfolk, Norwich, England, on January 30, 1974. She married her husband, Ed Sinclair, in 2001, and the couple welcomed three children.

WHO IS OLIVIA'S HUSBAND, ED SINCLAIR?
For a brief moment, Ed wanted to be a lawyer; he studied law at university before choosing a career in film. Acting experience in movies and plays came before Ed set his sights on writing and producing.
He moved from the front of the camera to behind it; he worked on various projects, including "Screenshot" and "One Day" in 2005. In 2005, Ed played in the British TV Series "Look Around You."

Curtis Brown, a talent management agency who represented Ed, shared that he'd worked on different writing projects, including "short stories, short film scripts, the odd poem, and two unpublished novels."Ed's first screenplay came in 2017 when he wrote and produced "Landscapers."
A true crime drama series was about a British couple's changed lives after being in the center of an investigation after police found two dead bodies in their backyard. The series was developed by Sister Pictures, and saw his wife cast as the lead character.

Olivia also portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in seasons three and four of the popular TV show "The Crown." Olivia shared during an interview that they seldom mixed business and pleasure. However, they have collaborated on projects together in the past.
They learned early to stick to their respective roles- he was the writer, and she was the actor, and that was that. When she starred in "Landscapers," it was an unpleasant experience for them both when he tried to offer notes on her performance, which she reportedly said, "Went down like a cup of cold sick."

In "The Lost Daughter," which earned her an Oscar nomination, Olivia had the role of a mother with adult daughters who struggled to accept the decisions from her past.
HOW DID OLIVIA COLMAN AND ED SINCLAIR MEET?
Ed and Olivia were both students at Cambridge University; with a shared interest in acting, they joined the Footlights Dramatic club. They met each other when they starred in a production of Alan Ayckbourn's "Table Manners."

Olivia immediately fell in love with Ed, and she jokingly said he had no choice in the matter. He was "completely bamboozled by the whole thing." She was persistent, something he later admitted to liking, and she elaborated:
"He kept wondering why this jolly, smiley person kept turning up and laughing hysterically at everything he said. But the fact that he was unaware and a bit puzzled was one of the things I liked about him."
Before deciding to be a writer, Ed attended Bristol Old Vic Theatre School; Olivia would often tag along to support him; she also had a job as a temp and a cleaner.

She soon enrolled and was accepted, and even after Ed chose a different career path, Olivia stuck to acting. Her persistence in pursuing Ed and pursuing a career in acting paid off. After she won an Oscar for her performance in "The Favourite," she dedicated a section of her acceptance speech to Ed.
At the end of the long list of people she chose to thank, she ended by thanking her husband. She emotionally proclaimed her love for him and called him her best friend. Her speech also included acknowledgments to her co-stars in "The Favourite," Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.

When asked about her marriage to Ed, Olivia shared that they were "lucky" to have found each other. They met when they were young and did not have much, but they still loved each other.
Everything worked out in the end, with Olivia joking that he was out of her league. She felt immediate thunderbolts the day they met.
Olivia believed the timing of their meeting was everything. Not much is known about the details of their wedding; however, they tied the knot in 2001.

Olivia and Ed were extremely private about their children's lives; though some information is known, very few images of them exist on the internet.

Their firstborn son, Finn, was born in 2005, followed by their second son, Colman, in 2007. After she won her first BAFTA for "Broadchurch" in 2014, Olivia and Ed rushed to get back to their sons. She said:
"As long as I have Ed and the boys, everything is alright."

While filming the British series "The Night Manager," Olivia was expecting her third child. She found the experience challenging, and frequent script changes often left her unable to remember lines.
She had her pregnancy written into the series, and in 2015 she welcomed her daughter; the couple chose not to disclose her name. During an interview with Vogue in 2019, Olivia shared that Ed had lovingly built a treehouse for the children.
