Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have returned to the UK for charity events. The trip comes shortly after Meghan's interview with The Cut in which she disclosed that there was room for forgiveness following the feud between them and the other royals. The couple was spotted touring the Windsor Grounds.

For the first time since the Queen's Jubilee Celebration events in June, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat as second-row royals, the pair arrived freely in the UK to attend charity events "close to their hearts."

They attended the One Young World Summit on Monday, an event held in Manchester that assembled young leaders from over 190 countries.

During the visit, Prince Harry and Meghan will also attend the Invictus Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event on Tuesday, September 6 in Germany, before jetting back to London, the UK, for the WellChild Awards on Thursday, September 8.

The pair will also jointly attend a roundtable meeting to discuss gender equality, amid the Duchesses podcast series about sexism and the stereotypes often faced by women.

The couple's trip to Germany became public knowledge two weeks before Meghan's podcast and her interview with The Cut, during which she spoke and reviewed her and her husband's fraught relationship with the British tabloid press and the royal family.

During the interview, Meghan claimed that before she and Harry quit royal life and relocated to the US in 2021, their mere existence seemed to "upset the dynamic of the hierarchy."

In the interview, Meghan also revealed that Harry had "lost" his relationship with his father, Prince Charles when he stepped down from his royal duties.

She was concerned that Harry's relationship with his father might end up like hers with her estranged father, Thomas Markle, something she did not want to happen. Asked what she thought about the family dynamic and whether there was the hope of ever mending fences, Meghan said:

“I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy not to forgive."

She claimed that active effort was needed for both parties to forgive. However, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband declined the open invitation extended to them by Prince Charles to stay with him during their UK visit.

Royal sources revealed that Charles "reiterated" his invitation for Harry and Meghan to stay with him at his home on the Balmoral estate in a bid to bring his son back into the fold. However, the Sussexes declined the kind offer, instead choosing to spend their time at their Frogmore Cottage.

One royal insider that Prince Charles considered the offer a good opportunity for the family to relax and take stock. However, the Sussexes had other plans in mind and declined the offer.

Reports say Harry and Meghan may be staying at their Frogmore Cottage, which is close to Prince William and Kate Middleton's new residence, the Adelaide Cottage, where they recently moved. However, the Sussexes do not plan on meeting with the Cambridges.

The couple, who flew into the UK via a commercial airline, has also declined any other family invitations and plans only on attending the charity events they had in mind. Unlike their previous UK visits, this time appears different, with the event organizers operating under the strictest levels of secrecy and security.

The One Young World conference organizers in Manchester and the WellChild Awards in London are operating under a “ring of steel” during Harry and Meghan's visit due to the new security arrangements. Due to the row, the Sussex opted to hire bodyguards themselves, seeing as the police would not offer them protection.

Harry asked for a review on his security detail after his security was compromised during the unveiling of his mother, Princess Diana's statue in 2021.

As long as the security row remains unresolved, the Sussexes Harry and Meghan remain prohibited from flying to Balmoral to see the Queen, whose mobility issues left her with too much discomfort to travel south.

Harry and Meghan will also not get to see Prince Charles as he is away on official duty in Scotland, where he is hosting a symposium of scientists at Dumfries House.

While they will not be playing catch up with their family members, the two are having a good time at the royal grounds. The two were spotted sitting in the back of a black bodyguard-driven Range Rover as they toured the Windsor Castle gardens.

Harry and Meghan Are Not Welcome in the UK

After Harry and Meghan exited the royal life and settled in the US, they promised that moving forward, everything they did would uphold the values of her Majesty. However, the Sussexes harshest critic, Channel Nine presenter Karl Stefanovic says they have done nothing of the sort.

The outspoken journalist claims that Meghan is a "D grade celebrity," based on what Australian TV personality Ita Buttrose said during her appearance on Studio 10.

While Buttrose did not outright say Meghan was a "D grade Celebrity," she did say Meghan was "just a celebrity" and accused her of making provocative statements to attract attention.

She added that while she did not want to be unkind to Meghan, she acknowledged that the former actress is "just a celebrity." While there was absolutely nothing wrong with that, Buttrose said, Meghan is now one of the many celebrities there are, while she could have maintained her position of a princess of the realm.

An unimpressed Stefanovic took it a step further to criticize the former "Suits" actress even as 9News correspondent Tracy Vo disclosed that according to news from people in the UK, the Sussexes are no longer welcome there.

Daily Mail also reported that according to a source well known to the royals, the Queen said she no longer wanted to be "on tenterhooks" all the time. She was tired of waiting for another bombshell from the Sussexes that would catch her and other royals unaware, as has happened many times before.
