Guy Fieri's Two Sons Hunter and Ryder - Facts about Them
America's beloved food lover, Guy Fieri, has led a successful career visiting restaurants around the country and trying out all kinds of cuisines. The cuisine expert is well-known for his warm and extroverted personality, but he is also a family man.
The "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" alum enjoys keeping his loved ones close and even built a house for his parents in his backyard, which he feels is special. Guy Fieri fell in love with Lori, and the pair wed in 1995. Together, they've welcomed two sons, Hunter and Ryder.
Hunter was the firstborn, born a year after Guy and Lori married. In 2005, they completed their family with the now adolescent Ryder. Guy ensured that he provided his sons with all kinds of ways to have fun growing up. However, the brothers are notably in different growth stages.
The Two Sons: Hunter & Ryder
Hunter Fieri drew his first breath on August 26, 1996. The opening of one of his dad's restaurants, John Garlic's, in California coincided with the 26-year-old's birth. Hunter grew up demonstrating a shared passion for food and cooking with his dad and ventured into the cuisine industry.
His father instilled a sense of independence in him from a young age. The up-and-coming food enthusiast recounted when Guy taught him how to make a breakfast dish when he declared that he would no longer be getting up early in the morning to make breakfast. He nostalgically recalled:
"He taught me how to make a French toast sandwich and put cream cheese and sliced strawberries in the middle."
Furthermore, Hunter starred in a partnered mini-documentary with ZENB titled "What Plants Can Do." According to Hollywood Life, he traveled to and explored a North Dakota farm in the mini-doc, where he explained how the company manufactures its yellow pea pasta.
Hunter and his dad also enjoy bonding over their love for seeing the band Rage Against the Machine! perform live. They saw the band three times this summer in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh.
Hunter's younger brother, Ryder, completed the Fieri family when he drew his first breath on December 31, 2005. Guy keeps the happenings of his family life low-key, but he does give a glimpse of his bonding moments with his sons on social media.
In October last year, the Food Network staple visited the Allegiant Stadium to watch the Golden State Warriors game with Ryder and his older brother. Guy also wished Ryder a happy birthday on Twitter in 2020, describing him as a great person, ball and pool player, friend, and son.
Ryder also has an Instagram account where he shares photos and videos of his adventures with his friends and family. Ryder's dad once revealed a rite of passage that he and his brother are expected to take before they can own new modern cars.
According to the New York Post, Hunter and Ryder will receive old vintage vehicles and need to look after them while abiding by the road rules. Once they've proven themselves, they will have the blessing of buying their own cars.
Guy explained that he wanted his sons to show him that they could spend at least one year driving a car while avoiding getting dents or wrecks. Moreover, the father-of-two wished his sons to show him they could be self-sufficient and added:
"Show me that you can spend a year driving the car, not getting any dents, not getting any wrecks, not getting any tickets. Prove that you've got it all together [...] I want the boys to be self-sufficient."
Difference between Sons
Although Hunter was nervous about beginning his journey to defining his preferred cuisine style, he found it easier once he tapped into his dad's teachings and the guidance he received from his mentors and managers. He explained:
"It's my first time really going out there by myself and believing in something and getting after it."
Moreover, his dad was more than ready to support him as the pair had even worked together before, with Hunter appearing on one of his dad's shows, "Guys Grocery Games." Guy looks forward to collaborating more with his son but understands the necessity of him finding his own groove first.
Hunter is also eager to grow the Fieri food empire and expressed his goal to own restaurants like his dad. The youngest of the small Fieri brood hasn't outwardly shown interest in the food industry like his dad and Hunter.
Although Ryder's made appearances on his dad's shows on TV, "Guy's Grocery Games" and "Guy Fieri's Family Union," Guy's secondborn is yet to clarify the kind of work he wishes to do someday.
Their Mother
Hunter and Ryder Fieri's mom, Lori Fieri, met their dad in 1995, and the first look she ever gave him was a "mean mug" when he told her friend to wait a few weeks before returning to the restaurant he was running.

The friend in question had recently been dismissed from Guy Fieri's establishment, and Lori was visiting her. Lori was moving across the country from Rhode Island, but after talking with Guy that day, their chemistry was ignited.
Guy won Lori's heart over on their first date by cooking for her. The celebrity chef said he couldn't remember what he made but knew it was fun, and she was the one. The couple tied the knot three years later and are still happily married.
In a September 2018 interview, the couple shared their secret to keeping their union strong and steady. Guy explained that it was all about the willingness to adapt, compromise, and be understanding in a relationship.
