Following the crash, Bach luckily escaped unscathed, and Starr sustained minor injuries. With their new relationship and the couple not dating long enough to have even spoken about their future together, the two instantly knew they were meant to be after the accident. They decided to tie the knot just weeks after the incident.

Bach and Starr became husband and wife in London on April 27, 1981, surrounded by family and friends, including Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Their wedding took place a year after the assassination of John Lennon outside his Manhattan apartment.
