Relationship
Besides her other movie roles, Kay-Oliphant's wife is popularly known for her role as Officer Kim Burgess in "Chicago P.D." He and Squerciati had met when they were both undergraduates at Northwestern University in the early 2000s.
They were together until 2016, before they tied the knot. After getting engaged, the actress's mother reportedly asked her father if he would send a gift, and he assured her that she would be in his will.
Marina Squerciati was born out of an alleged affair her mother had with Wall Street mogul and financier John R. Jakobson. After his death in April 2017 at 86, the actress discovered he did not keep his promise.
Jakobson, who was married twice, had paid for Squerciati's upkeep for more than 20 years and her education until graduation. He also sent her flowers and gifts on her birthday but did not include her in his will.
However, as she had no written evidence of her father's promise to provide for her in his will, the Jakobson's lawyers offered her a $50,000 settlement. There was no record if she had accepted the offer or not.
Children
On February 15, 2017, the actress took to her social media pages to announce that she and Kay-Oliphant were expecting their first baby. Before the arrival of her baby, the actress's "Chicago P.D." castmates Sophia Bush and Amy Morton arranged a baby shower for her.
In early May 2017, the couple welcomed a baby girl. However, despite the actress being excited to become a mother, she revealed that things were different when her baby arrived.
Kay-Oliphant's wife revealed that she was not incredibly cheerful and happy-go-lucky after giving birth. She said:
"I didn't have an incredible surge of love; I didn't have an incredible non-surge of love. I just was like, 'Oh, this is a new part of my life.' It was just not there."
However, after a couple of months, the actress, who was not ashamed to talk about her emotions, began to feel a surge of love, had joy and had plenty of fun spending time with her baby.
