Berry Gordy Has 8 Children from Different Marriages: A Look into Their Lives
Some of Berry Gordy's children have followed in their father's musical footsteps and have made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry. Berry has welcomed eight children over the years, including a daughter who did not know Berry was her biological father until she was 13.
Berry was born in 1929 and has lived a full life. He was a boxer, served in the Korean War, and when he returned to American shores, his musical career blossomed. He became known as one of his generation's greatest producers and songwriters.
Berry founded the iconic record label that would later be known as Mowtown with the help of his second wife and has worked with artists like Smokey Robinson and Michael Jackson. Over the years, Berry has welcomed eight children with different women, including musical legend Diana Ross.

After his last divorce in 1993, he dedicated his time to bonding with his children and grandchildren. Some of Berry's kids have followed in his musical footsteps, while others have enjoyed private lives.
Hazel Joy Gordy
Hazel was the first of the three children Berry welcomed during his first marriage to Thelma Coleman in 1953. Hazel married one of the Jackson 5 brothers and shared three children. In 1988, Hazel and her ex went their separate ways.

Berry Gordy IV
Berry's second child from his first marriage is Berry IV. Berry IV's son, Skylar Austen Gordy, Berry's grandson, inherited the musical gene and pursued a career as a rap artist. He is known by his stage name, Sky Blu, and is one-half of the rap duo LMFAO. The other half is his uncle, Redfoo.

Very little is known about Terry; he has managed to steer clear of the limelight, and it is unclear whether he chose a career in the entertainment industry like the rest of his family.
Kerry Gordy
Kerry is one of the more well-known Gordy children. His years as a child working in Mowtown's mailroom paid off as he became the CEO of an entertainment company. Kerry ventured into the music industry but chose the business side of it.
His company manages brand deals and equity payouts for its artists, and he also had experience managing the late singer Rick James. Kerry used to work for famous musician Prince and his record label, Paisley Park. Kerry and his wife share their daughter Juliet Gordy.

Sherry Gordy
Sherry was raised in California and studied business at university. She gained acting experience in acting classes, but after obtaining her license, Sherry chose to become a realtor.
When Sherry wasn't working as a realtor, her father Inspired her philanthropy work. In 2004, she started a charity in the hopes of helping underprivileged youth.
Kennedy William 'Rockwell' Gordy

Kennedy is another Gordy family member who inherited the musical gene and went by Rockwell. He released multiple albums over the years and appeared on TV shows such as "Soul Train."
His 1984 hit "Somebody's Watching Me" with the Jackson 5 on vocals was his most successful song. It topped the music charts for weeks and gained popularity again in 2021 after its use on TikTok.
Stefan Kendal 'Redfoo' Gordy

Stefan and Skylar formed LMFAO in 2006. They penned a deal with Interscope and have hits like "Sexy and I Know It" under their belts. They released their first album, "Party Rock," in 2009 and their second album, "Sorry for Party Rocking," in 2011.
In 2013, Stefan was a judge and a mentor on "The X Factor"; in 2015, he was a competitor on "Dancing with the Stars" and partnered with Emma Slater.
Rhonda Ross
Rhonda is Diana Ross's eldest daughter and has a career as an actress and a singer. She was on "Another World" for two years, and her acting career earned her an Emmy nomination. In 2016, she released an album.

She was the opening act for one of her mother's shows and wrote two of the songs on Diana's "Thank You" album in 2021. Rhonda married a fellow artist, Rodney Kendrick, in 1996 and welcomed their son, Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick, in 2009.
How Rhonda Ross Found Out Berry Gordy Is Her Dad
Rhonda was 13 when she found out Berry was her father. However, Rhonda said she suspected her mother's husband at the time was not her biological father growing up. She said she was the only one of her siblings that did not look like a " 6-foot-tall Jewish American man."

Berry was close to their family, and Rhonda and her siblings used to call him uncle. While she was already 13 when she realized Berry was her father, other people guessed it sooner.
Rhonda recalled times when she would be walking down the street and fans would say to her, "Oh child, we knew you were Berry Gordy's daughter — you look just like him!"

Rhonda is the only child Berry and Diana share. Diana married Robert Ellis Silberstein when she was a few months into her pregnancy with Rhonda, and Robert raised her as his own. Diana has five children from three previous relationships.
During her marriage to Robert, they had Tracee Ellis Ross in 1972 and Chudney Ross in 1975. Diana and Robert divorced after six years of marriage in 1977. Diana Ross and Berry Gordy remained good friends over the years, and in 2017, Gordy said he and Diana believed in each other and made "magic" together.
