Ohio Student, 20, Disappeared Nearly a Week Ago – Her Body Has Now Been Found

An Ohio student was on the verge of the rest of her life, studying at Princeton University and creating a bright future for herself. To everyone's shock and horror, she went missing—heartbreaking news about her whereabouts was recently revealed.

Like many people in their early twenties, Misrach Ewunetie was a diligent student pursuing her dreams. She was described as someone with a beautiful soul, always putting others first and taking pride in her education.

She Was a Good Student

When Misrach relocated from her family home in Ohio to Princeton so she could pursue her studies, her family was saddened. They wished she lived closer to them, but they didn't restrict her or limit her goals.

The 20-year-old student had an active social life on her university campus, enjoying her time as a youngster. She returned to her school's New Jersey campus in the early hours of a typical Friday on October 14, 2022.

One of her suitemates recalled seeing Misrach brushing her teeth, unaware that it would be the last time she saw her. When the student's direct roommate got home, she was surprised that her friend was nowhere to be found.

The Movements Were Out of Character

The following day, Misrach had plans to meet with someone about her U.S. citizenship application. Her family started to worry when they learned she had missed the meeting. By the end of the weekend, Misrach's phone went directly to voicemail.

The final ping from her cell came from an off-campus housing unit on Sunday. The student's brother, Universe Ewunetie, indicated that the movements were odd and out of character for his sister.

Misrach's loved ones received devastating news on Thursday, October 20, when their worst fears came true.

A Desperate Search for the Student

Universe and other family and friends of Misrach started putting up posters on campus once they realized she was missing. Authorities also undertook an intensive search mission, looking for the student in the area via drones and helicopters.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy indicated they were doing everything possible to find Misrach. The family was desperate, and Universe said every moment that passed was "more painful than the last."

The Heartbreakingly Tragic News

Misrach's loved ones received devastating news on Thursday, October 20, when their worst fears came true. Misrach was found dead near the university tennis courts. The late student's brother was emotional as he described the experience:

"It's very painful. A nightmare I cannot wake up from."

The university organized a memorial for Misrach and also offered support and counseling services for affected students and staff. The vice president for campus life added:

"Misrach's death is an unthinkable tragedy. Our hearts go out to her family, her friends, and the many others who knew and loved her."

Police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and death of Misrach. The cause of her passing remains unknown at present.
