Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that affects the central part of the nervous system. It attacks a person's brain and spinal cord and can slow communication between the brain and the body.

As stated by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the cause of the disease is still unknown, but most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20 to 50.

Applegate is dealing with these health challenges while also trying to stay strong for her daughter, whom she shares with her Dutch husband, Martyn LeNoble.

Christina Applegate's Husband Has Been Her Biggest Supporter

Applegate has been acting since her television debut on "Days of our Lives" in 1972. But the role that gained her recognition was Kelly Bundy on "Married with Children."

It was only uphill from there; the actress was part of the hilarious film "The Anchor Man," "Vacation," and her recent appearance on the Netflix show "Dead to Me."

According to People, Applegate and her husband had known each other for many years before tying the knot. The couple got engaged in 2010, married in 2013, and had their daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, in 2011.

The "Dead to Me" star keeps her relationship pretty private, but the couple has held each other down through the ups and down for nearly a decade now.

LeNoble reportedly played bass for a local Dutch punk rock band as a teenager, but the musician decided to move to Los Angeles to grow his career.

The musician said he arrived in Los Angeles in 1989 with $75 in his pocket. But he worked hard and went on to play bass for several bands, including Thelonious Monster, Too Free Stooges, Jane's Addiction, and The Cult.

LeNoble then moved on to be one of the founding members of the band Porno for Pyros, along with Peter DiStefano, Stephen Perkins, and Perry Farrell.

MS is not the only life-threatening illness that Applegate has endured. The actress was also diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and had to undergo a double mastectomy and surgically remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.

This happened while she and LeNoble were dating, but he was there to hold her hand through it all. Applegate said he made her feel beautiful with the body changes she was experiencing and used a lot of humor to get her through this challenging journey. She said:

"I laughed more in the hospital than I ever have in my life, making fun of all the weird things that were happening to me."

Applegate confessed that she would not have made it through her breast cancer battle without her husband. But People also stated that the actress's mother suffered from the same cancer and recovered, so that was added motivation for her to win her battle.

Christina Applegate Opened Up about Motherhood

Applegate's pregnancy was revealed just five months after her engagement, stated People. The actress was excited about the journey of motherhood and already envisioned the kind of mother she would be.

The "Bad Moms" star said she believed she would be a mixture of a "hippie" and "type A" mom. Applegate told People that she would take from some of her mother's teachings, who was relaxed about most things, then implement some of the things she's learned from watching her friends raise their kids.

After welcoming her daughter, Applegate reportedly had an interview about motherhood with Scholastic Parent & Child. The actress said her then one-year-old found her funny and especially loved her animal sounds.

Sadie's favorite animal sound was a monkey, and Applegate said she would even try to imitate her. But Sadie needed more than one good joke because it lost its relevance quickly. "Sadie is a much harder critic than the public." joked Appelgate.

On the brighter side, Saide is growing up in a household full of creativity. Applegate shared that she loved that her daughter was exposed to her father's musical side and "mommy being ridiculous at home."

Generally, Applegate said her daughter was very independent and would find her own thing to do. At this stage of her daughter's life, the actress enjoyed the various random things Saidie would find hysterical.
