It has been a tough few weeks for Colombia-born singer Shakira with her father being readmitted to the hospital. Her dad, William Mebarak Chadid, was first admitted to the hospital in June after he contracted Covid-19, followed by a bad fall in May.

In the recent emotional clip shared on her Instagram, the "Don't You Worry" songstress is seen helping her father with his physio sessions as a doctor watches.

The singer has had to juggle her music career, her family life, and visiting her dad in the hospital, which could not be easy for her. In the video released on November 1, Shakira wrote:

"And life is something that happens between hospital visits and Halloween costumes."

The clip is, however, not all gloom. The singer could be seen celebrating and kissing her father's feet after he lifted them from the ground by himself.

According to Shakira's mother, Nidia Ripoll, William is now stable. However, the family remains unsure when he will be discharged from the hospital. Nidia also noted that William had received many visitors at the hospital, including Shakira's ex Gerard Pique.

What’s Going On between Shakira and Gerard Pique?

Despite Pique telling reporters that he and Shakira were still family when he visited William at the hospital, Pique and Shakira have not been together for months.

Even though their love story did not culminate in wedding bells, Shakira and Pique were together for 12 years and share two kids, Milan and Sasha.

Speaking to Elle, Shakira disclosed that she had put her career on hold and gone to Spain to support Pique's football career. She shared that it had been a sacrifice of love but one that allowed her to be present for her kids. She could have chosen to move to the United States, where her chance at a better career was apparent.

Unfortunately, in June, the Spanish media released unsavory photos of Pique kissing a 23-year-old student Clara Chia Marti at the Summerfest Ceranya festival, bringing an end to a romance that has lasted longer than many Hollywood marriages.

In September, Shakira confessed that she found her situation very difficult to talk about, especially since it was the first time she addressed the matter since the photos surfaced. She told Elle, as The Bazaar reports:

She said she was pushing to get past her pain and be strong for those who depended on her. Moving forward, she would focus on being an excellent example to her children, who looked up to her.

How Does Shakira Raise Her Children?

Shakira is as swift as deer when it comes to busting dance moves, and her voice has, for decades, remained unmatched. However, when it comes to parenting, she admits it is the most challenging thing she's ever done.

She told People she had performed in front of millions of audiences and met world leaders. However, being a mom made her the most ill at ease.

Raising two boys, especially with her being separated from her ex-partner, is no walk in the park, and every day is a chance for her to improve her parenting skills.

Shakira, however, appears to be doing a stellar job, and her sons have grown into adorable young men with interests of their own. Milan loves surfing and is a talented pianist, while Sasha has taken up karate and even won in a martial art tournament.
