Harrison Ford found love with his wife, Calista Flockhart and became a doting father to her adopted son in his 60s.

Harrison's wife celebrated her 58th birthday, and he picked up her mother on a private jet so she could see her daughter that day.
In November 2022, Calista Flockhart celebrated her 58th birthday with her husband, Harrison Ford, then 80, going out of his way to do something special to honor her. On November 11, 2022, Harrison flew one of his private jets into Los Angeles.
After landing, the actor helped Kay, Calista's mother, who walked with a cane, out of the cabin entry door and down the plane's steps. His wife also followed the pair with one of the family's dogs on a leash.
According to reports, Harrison left New York for Los Angeles and picked up his mother-in-law in Tennessee. Kay has since retired and lives more than 225 miles east of Nashville in Morristown, Tennessee.
An SUV met the trio, and they were driven off to celebrate the "Ally McBeal" star's birthday. It was clear how much Harrison adored his wife and would seemingly do anything for her, including becoming a stepfather.
Harrison Was Blessed to Marry Calista and Became a Father of Her Adopted Son in His 60s
In 2002, Calista and Harrison, then 60, met for the first time at the Golden Globe Awards. The couple dated for seven-and-a-half years before planning to take their relationship to the next level.

In 2009, Harrison proposed to his longtime girlfriend on the weekend of Valentine's Day. Shortly before she started dating the actor, Calista adopted a son, Liam Flockhart, who was on a family vacation with them when Harrison proposed, with a 2015 source claiming:
"Harrison and Calista are all about family life."

The insider alleged that the duo's lives before and after they tied the knot remained focused on Liam. In June 2009, eight years since they began dating. Calista became Harrison's wife during a ceremony in Santa Fe.
The wedding ceremony was a private and simple affair that saw the bride wearing a casual white sundress and the groom looking dapper in jeans. The year after Harrison met the actress, he declared his love for her.

During an interview, the star said he was "in love," and that romantic love was fulfilling and exciting compared to other kinds. The actor noted how there was potential to find it at any stage of one's life.
Even though he hadn't been looking for it, Harrison wasn't surprised that he had fallen in love. Calista, then 38, revealed that the big age gap between them didn't face her, and she'd often forgotten that he was 22 years older, adding:
"It doesn't factor into our relationship at all. I like the way he looks first thing in the morning. It's not handsome, it's more cute. He looks like a little boy."

The pair's first meeting saw them conversing for around 20 minutes before Harrison spilt some wine by mistake. In early 2003, Calista moved into Harrison's Los Angeles home with her then-two-year-old adopted son.
Being a father of four children, the actor was comfortable around toddlers and took Liam as his own. Since he was a pilot, the star helped the actress conquer her flying fears.

In 2019, a friend claimed the couple had a successful long-term marriage because they both wanted to enjoy their successes without becoming trapped in to. Liam, then 18, allowed Harrison another go at fatherhood with the boy he'd adopted with Calista.
The star allegedly didn't think he'd become a father late in life, but it had come as a "tremendous blessing to him." The actress's husband made it a point to give his adopted son full attention.

Over the years of their loving relationship, the two celebrities have found things that they both loved enjoying together. One of the main things was something Harrison helped his wife overcome.

The insider said the couple appeared to function in their world. For years, the pair had enjoyed hours in their joint pastime, flying, a hobby Calista now loved because she trusted her husband.
In 2003, Harrison said he was "thrilled" by her change of heart because flying was essential to him. He explained that it was more enjoyable when other people had fun with it and his wife liked the process.
The actor also shared how Calista liked what she saw from the air and liked seeing her husband happy. He figured she was into flying because she loved seeing him doing something he loved.

The actress revealed her "complete confidence" in Harrison's piloting skills. She confessed how nervous she'd been about flying when they did it the first time but discovered she loved it instead and had no nervousness about it.
Calista and her husband also took their son, Liam flying all the time, and he loved it. It seemed he was keen on the world of aviation after being introduced to it by his stepfather.
