Yannick Carrasco's Wife Noémie Happart Is a Former Miss Belgium & Passionate about Helping Kids
Yannick Carrasco represents Belgium on the soccer pitch, while Noémie Happart carried the country's flag at two international beauty pageants in 2013. The couple celebrated their wooden wedding anniversary in 2022.
Following her reign as Miss Belgian, where she was involved in a charity focused on children, Noémie Happart became a model and TV presenter. She is a fixture at her husband, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco's La Liga matches, where he is signed to Atlético Madrid.
The glamorous couple met the old-fashioned way, in a bar. Both claim they were oblivious to the other's public profile at the beginning of their courtship. The beauty queen loves playing sports such as handball, cooking, and spending time with family.
Noémie Happart Represented Belgium at Miss World
At twenty, the model was crowned Miss Belgium 2013, receiving a brand-new Peugeot as part of the prize package. The Belgium blonde was placed in the top twenty at the Miss World pageant, losing out to Megan Young of the Philippines.
She did not finish her medical degree but found other ways to help children.
In a video for Miss World, she defined her character as positive and said she would always help "innocent children." She also qualified for Miss Universe but did not place in the competition that Venezuela's Gabriela Isler won.
Happart Wanted to Become a Pediatrician
Happart was born on June 1, 1993, in Liege, Belgium, and is fluent in four languages, English, Spanish, Flemish, and French. Before embarking on her successful pageant run in 2013, she was studying medicine with the dream of qualifying as a pediatrician.
She did not finish her medical degree but found other ways to help children. During her reign as Miss Belgium, she prioritized time between photo shoots to get involved with a project to build a children's home in Cambodia.
Miss Belgium 2013 revealed that she traveled with a doctor to a Cambodian village. Per her LinkedIn page, she is still involved with the cause, which she considers "the greatest project" she has been involved in.
Life after Miss Belgium
Happart was awarded a bachelor's degree in marketing from Haute Ecole de la Province de Liège in 2016 and worked at Basic-Fit for a month. She capitalized on her modeling contacts as a pageant winner as a student.
She promptly achieved one of her goals mentioned in a Miss World video, becoming a television presenter; the model has been hosting a segment on Hollywood since Jun 2013 for KNTV. The Belgium personality also moonlights as a corporate speaker.
The beauty queen looked up social media influencing part-time in June 2017 and has worked with brands such as Zara, retailer Kruidvat BVBA, and health and beauty brand Collistar Benelux in this capacity.
Noémie Happart Did Not Set out To "Seduce" a Soccer Player
When Happart and Carrasco met at a bar in Liege, neither was aware of the other's celebrity and got to know each other better over Facebook DMs. The couple reportedly shared their first kiss on their fifth date.
The model bluntly told a Belgian magazine that "seducing" a soccer player was never one of her goals; she was highly suspicious of his profession, which she perceived to have a bad reputation. She found him attractive but gave him a chance after being charmed by his personality.
Happart married Carrasco on July 24, 2017, in an elegant lace gown and a bouquet of white and light pink blooms. The sportsman wore a striped tan three-piece suit with dark studs in his ears. On their fifth wedding anniversary, she predicted that "the best is yet to come."
The Belgium couple expanded their small family with a son, Naël, on July 2, 2022. The baby shower was a classy affair in muted orange, white, and metal tones in Madrid, Spain, with many of Carrasco's teammates in attendance.
