Malachy Murphy Is Now a Teen & Is Raised Away from Big Cities - What We Know About Cillian Murphy’s Son
Malachy Murphy lived in London for 14 years before his father, "Peaky Blinders" star Cillian Murphy, relocated his family back to Ireland.
Malachy Murphy is Cillian Murphy's first son, whom he had with his wife, Yvonne McGuinness. Despite his father's celebrity status, the young boy lives privately and is rarely seen in the spotlight.
Born on December 5, 2005, Malachy entered this world weighing 7 pounds and 5 ounces. However, word of his birth only hit the news the year after.

Cillian later shared how fatherhood changed his outlook on life. "It's hopefully made me a better person," he said. "It's certainly made me more aware of what's important in life."
Why Did Malachy Murphy Move Away from London?
Malachy was born and raised in London for 14 years with his parents and brother before relocating to Dublin, Ireland, where he could be closer to his grandparents. While Malachy was in his pre-teens, the "Peaky Blinders" star noticed his son's English accents developing.
It was, in part, why Cillian chose to move back to his homeland. "They're 16 and 14," he said of his kids. "It's great. They have the same age gap that me and my brother have, so it's nice to see them just being brothers and being pals."
In 2015, Malachy's father purchased a nearly $2 million Victorian-style home in Monkstown, Dublin. The residence measures 3,444 square meters and boasts high ceilings, large windows, and beautiful fireplaces.

Malachy's home is near the sea, although a view of the ocean cannot be seen from the house. Cillian noted still that the sea could be seen from the top of Malachy's room should one tiptoe.
While in Ireland, Malachy is keeping his family tradition alive by going to the Blasket Islands with his family, something Cillian used to do with his father.
Does Malachy Murphy Follow in His Dad's Footsteps?
It seems that Malachy is not interested in following in his father's footsteps. Given Cillian's violent on-screen characters, his children are not as invested in watching him.
After meeting in the mid-90s, the pair started dating and tied the know in 2004.
However, Malachy has shown interest in music and talks to his father about shared preferences. Cillian supports his son's career choice and does not want to force a specific path on him. As a parent, he wants his son to be confident and happy in life, regardless of their chosen profession.
Malachy is rarely ever seen in public, although at times, the press would get a glimpse of their family. From photos taken of the kids, Malachy and his brother share a strong resemblance with their father.
In one snap, the family of four stood amongst several people on what appeared to be a sidewalk. Cillian and his wife wore jackets and sunglasses while their two sons stood in front of them with helmet-cut hair and bangs.
Cillian Murphy succeeded in the entertainment industry after his big break in "28 Days Later." He was cast in many known films, including "The Dark Knight" and "Inception," but his latest known project is in the Netflix series "Peaky Blinders."
Despite focusing on his career, the Irish actor also built a family with his wife, McGuinness, who works as a visual artist. After meeting in the mid-90s, the pair started dating and tied the know in 2004. They welcomed Malachy in 2005 and had another son, Aran, in 2007.
Although a public figure, Cillian lives a relatively private life and only opens up about family occasionally. Nevertheless, he always has positive things to say about his wife and kids.
