Rhys and Rosie's nearly two-decade-long relationship started in the mid-1990s when she co-owned a performance cafe, and he was a character waiter at a restaurant theatre.

After Rhys auditioned at Rosie's performance cafe with a friend, she thought he had potential. So, she taught him how to tap dance, and their love story began.

Rhys Darby and Wife Rosie Carnahan Achieved Their Dream Together

Since they met, Rhys and Rosie have shared a love for making people laugh. As a result, the couple launched their company, Awesomeness International, with a mission to "make and support comedy for the world to laugh at."

They also launched a website and a Facebook page for their company based in New Zealand, Rosie and her husband's home country. And part of the project was exposing local New Zealand talent to the world during their comedy shows.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic put a pin in their schedule, which they resumed in 2021. They reintroduced their comedy show to the world in May 2021 with a performance from Jonno Roberts, an actor and close friend of theirs.

Rhys and Rosie then hosted their second show, which featured Rhys and a guest called Buttons and Dan Schreiber. Their company also included merchandise, from DVDs to t-shirts and beanies. However, their social media has been inactive since 2021.

Rosie Carnahan & Rhys Darby Have Found the Key to Their Enduring Marriage

In honor of their tenth anniversary, Rhys and Rosie left their kids at home and enjoyed each other's company during a trip to Hawaii. Rhys already had a show booked on the tropical island, and the couple decided to seize the moment.

Although they meant for the trip to be a romantic getaway, Rhys joked that the pair spent most of their time missing and thinking of their children. However, the couple set out on a Hawaiian adventure to rekindle their love.

They hired scooters, drove around the island, went snorkeling, and ensured they got it all on camera, with Rhys revealing they captured their trip in over thirty shots. The holiday was also a window of opportunity for the couple to realize a key to their marriage. Rhys said:

"That's the key to a successful marriage, folks– patience. I think my wife has a lot of it."

While being humourous was part of their jobs, Rhys and Rosie proved it was also a part of their relationship in their social media exchanges.

In May, Rosie responded to a tweet where she joked that she spent the past twenty years resenting Rhys for his snoring. Rhys humorously replied, "You don't need to speak on my behalf, honey... but yes, you're quite right."

Despite the banter, Rhys and Rosie proved they were a solid couple when she lent him a helping hand after they relocated their family to Los Angeles for Rhys' career.

Rosie Carnahan Is a Proud Mom of Two Boys

In March, Rosie shared a snap of Theo trying his hand at acting while on the set of an acting project with Taika Waitit. The proud mom gushed about Theo in the Instagram post caption and said:

"(I was) so proud of him that day. He kept going, knowing that 100 crew (members) were there waiting for him to do things. He listened, worked his butt off, and followed instructions...and in the end, had a total blast."

The proud mom regularly shared pictures of her sons on social media, including their school portraits, which she said accurately captured their differing personalities.
