Andre's Father Came to America Only Having $20 in His Pocket

Eric's father, Doctor Pierre André, lived as a psychiatrist in Delray Beach, Florida. He has a compelling history of providing his services to Delray Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center after graduating from CETEC University in Santo Domingo.

Pierre treated patients who suffered from different forms of mental illness, including Depression; anxiety; substance abuse; and schizophrenia. Before reaching the top of his class at CETEC, Pierre immigrated from his homeland, Haiti, in 1969 with just $20 to his name.

He learned how to speak English in the USA and met his wife, Natalie, with whom he shared two children. After forty years of service in the medical field, Pierre's life ended after a two-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer. He was 75 years old.

"He was trying to make me laugh and smile all the way to the end. I love you dad. I'll see you in the next existence. Rest In Peace."

Pierre had a Twitter account but never really shared much on it, aside from two tweets in 2011. His more social media-inclined son shared a collection of his father's photos; click here to see them. The diverse life experience dealt to Eric entitled him to the opinion that comedy is born from tragedy.
