Her father, Paul Byron Detmore, was a businessman who died at 65 on October 31, 2011. He was also a baseball player in college, had a passion for sports, and loved golfing, hunting, and the outdoors.
After college, he worked at Coca-Cola for almost four decades before retirement. His long career as a brand representative earned him the nickname "Mr. Coca-Cola."
Mackenzie's mother, Nancy Detmore née Goodman, had married Paul in 1973. She attended Coronado High School before leaving for Texas Tech University.
