Stephen Blosil Had a Different Name at Birth – Meet Marie Osmond's Son

Stephen Blosil, born Stephen James Craig Jr., is Marie Osmond's first son. He was born from her first marriage to Stephen 'Steve' Lyle Craig, a former college basketball player.

Stephen Blosil's mother is a singer, author, actress, and television host who started her music career in the early 1970s. Despite coming from a family involved in rock music, she ventured into country music and rose to fame with her debut single in 1973.

Her single topped two Billboard charts and earned her two Grammy Awards nominations. As her career progressed, she began hosting a special variety show with her brother.

In the mid-1970s, she went into movies and has since acted in over 15 films. On June 26, 1982, she married for the first time and welcomed Stephen the following year.

Stephen Has Had Different Surnames throughout His Life

Stephen was born in the United States in Provo, Utah, on April 20, 1983, barely a year after his parents married. His father was a student at Brigham Young University, where he played basketball.

His parents divorced three years after marriage, and his mother remarried on October 28, 1986. She married the music producer Brian Blosil who officially adopted her first child.

The adoption meant Stephen's surname changed from Craig to Blosil. Over the years, he and his mother have developed a strong bond, and she never hesitates to call him sweet names, especially while celebrating him on Instagram.

For his birthday in 2020, she called him her sweetheart in the caption of a post wishing him a happy birthday. She wrote:

"My firstborn Stephen had a quarantine birthday this weekend!! Stephen I love you so much sweetheart, so proud of you and your sweet little family!!!"

Stephen Is a Proud Father of 4

Stephen briefly took after his mother and went into acting. He starred as Brian Jessup in "It Nearly Wasn't Christmas" in 1989. However, he prefers to live a more quiet life in recent times.

He is relatively active on social media, with an Instagram account with few followers. On his page, he shares happy moments from his life with his wife and children.

Stephen married his wife, Claire, on September 23, 2011. While Claire has not been active on social media for over a year, she has always shared pictures of her family.

Stephen Is the Oldest of His Mother's Children

Stephen is the oldest of Marie's eight children. After she divorced his father and remarried, she welcomed a daughter, Rachael Lauren Blosil, who is now married to Gabriel Krueger, in August 1989.

Shortly after, she adopted Jessica Marie Blosil, born in December 1987. Jessica, married to her wife Sara, is a police officer and counselor. On May 4, 1991, she had Michael Bryan Blosil.

He committed suicide in February 2010 at 18. For over a decade, Marie Osmond grieved over Michael's death. However, she went back to singing almost immediately to cope with her loss.

Marie welcomed Brandon Warren Blosil in November 1996, and he has stayed out of the spotlight despite his mother's fame. One year later, she had Brianna Patricia Blosil, a makeup artist who married David Schwep.

In July 1999, Marie had Matthew Richard Blosil, who is dedicated to his faith and goes on church missions. In September 2002, she welcomed Abigail Olive May Blosil, who graduated high school in May 2020.

In 2007, she divorced her second husband and later revealed that she stayed in the marriage because of the kids, even though she was unhappy. On May 4, 2011, Marie Osmond remarried her first husband, Steve, even though she never wanted to remarry.
