Retired NFL tough guy Jerome Bettis, the man whom fans used to call "The Bus," is a big softy when it comes to affairs of the heart. Trameka Boykin, Jerome Bettis's wife for the last 16 years, knows it well.

The NFL Hall of Fame inductee is an adoring husband and often gushes about Trameka and their children. She is the center of his world, and he is proud to shout it out.

They say that behind every great man is a strong woman, and NFL wives like Tiffany Roy and Jenny Rice prove that old saying is true. While their husbands prove themselves on the field, the NFL wives work behind the scenes, quietly holding the families together.

While Trameka's social media presence is discreet, her husband can't stop sharing the love on Instagram and Twitter.

Jerome married Trameka in 2006, a year after he retired from the NFL, but they had been a couple for many years. They married in Montego Bay, Jamaica, making their love official. Time to have a family may be one of the reasons Jerome only married after retiring. He revealed:

"I made a deal with my wife, I don’t golf, I don’t do any other activities outside of family time."

Jerome and Trameka welcomed their daughter Jada in January 2007 and son Jerome Jr. in 2008. Jada is graduating high school, and her proud dad shared her prom snaps on Instagram.

On Jada's 16th birthday in 2021, Jerome shared a series of photos of his daughter and how proud he and Trameka are of their little girl. More recently, Jerome shared that he hopes Jada will follow him into his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame.

Jerome Jr. is a born athlete like his dad, and at 14, he is already a promising young man. He is a student at Westminster School in Atlanta, Georgia, and is already taking part in recruitment visits with his dad.

Jerome Jr. will be entering college in 2025, and his dad is hoping he, too, will be studying and playing at Notre Dame, and who knows, in a few years, we may have another Bettis playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tameka's Husband Keeps His Promises

Jerome and Trameka will advise Jerome Jr. not to follow too closely in his dad's footsteps. Jerome left college in his senior year to play for the NFL and only graduated from Notre Dame University in 2022 to fulfill a promise he'd made long ago. He said on Twitter:

"A promise made, a promise kept. 28 years after leaving @NotreDame, I've completed my degree from the Mendoza School of Business. I hope my journey serves as [a] reminder that education is the true equalizer in life and it is never too late to start."

Jerome and his lovely Trameka are a shining example of an adoring couple dedicated to each other and raising their children.
