On December 27, 2022, Anderson Cooper shared rare Instagram photos of his two sons celebrating their first Christmas Day together. Wyatt and Sebastian looked like their father and were photographed looking at presents under a Christmas tree.

Sebastian looked adorable in a blue sailor outfit, while his older brother wore an orange top and white and red striped pajama pants. In the second picture, the younger boy wore the same clothes while his brother changed into a top that matched his pants.

In the post's caption, Anderson revealed how Wyatt, then two, had "helped" his younger brother celebrate his first Christmas. The CNN anchor was lucky not to raise the children alone.

In 2020, Anderson welcomed his first son, Wyatt, via surrogate. His second boy, Sebastian, was received the same way in February 2022, and the star co-parented the children with his ex-boyfriend, Benjamin Maisani, with him stating:

“We are co-parents. Wyatt calls me Daddy, and Benjamin is Papa."

At the time, the journalist was speaking on CNN after the boy arrived. He also revealed that Sebastian was "healthy," "happy," and occasionally had adorable hiccups but slept, ate, and pooped most of the time.

Anderson also noted how the little boy appeared to be thoughtful and wise. The television personality once confessed that it was unusual for him to be raising his sons with Maisani but knew the businessman would be an incredible father, adding:

“We’re exes, but we’re family to each other, and we love each other as family and as co-parents."

The star acknowledged that he and his best friend argued like others when children were involved. The pair argued about what time the children should attend swimming classes or the overalls they should wear!

However, Anderson said they were arguing about minor and silly things because he and Maisani got along perfectly. The former couple went public about their relationship in 2015, three years before the journalist came out as gay.

Sadly by 2018, the CNN anchor had revealed they'd broken up but would remain in each other's lives. Anderson said he believed that if an intimate relationship ended and you still loved that person, there was no reason your love couldn't endure.

The hilarious thing about the joke was that the star [Anderson Cooper] even used a toddler's voice to mess around with Sebastian and Wyatt!

The Frenchman also noted how relaxed and happy Anderson was since welcoming his first child before sharing how the little boy had "grounded" the journalist. Over the years, his ex-boyfriend has shown how close he's gotten to the two children.

How Does Cooper Bond with His Sons?

In April 2022, Anderson was interviewed by Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," where he was asked how he maintained a bond with his children. The star confessed that it was slow going with his second son.

The reporter explained how he hadn't wanted Wyatt's life to change suddenly and "cataclysmically" with the new addition of a crying baby. Maisani and Anderson ensured the older boy wasn't around his little brother all the time.

Instead, the co-parents made sure to go out often with the children. The news anchor also shared how he'd begun bonding with Wyatt over making light and innocent fun of the last addition to the family!

To clarify, Maisani's ex-boyfriend revealed that he and his oldest son didn't make fun of Sebastian in a "bad way." The jokes they made included Anderson mimicking Sebastian's voice when the child cried.

Wyatt had started doing the same thing to his little brother. The journalist said his oldest boy would look at his father, and the look would be returned before Anderson teased, "Wah! I'm a baby. I'm crying; I'm crying."
