Alexa Marie Aikman Makes her Father Troy Aikman Proud - All about Her
Alexa Marie Aikman, Troy Aikman's daughter, inherited her father's athletic gene and has played sports throughout high school. Her family has faced troubles over the years– including her parents' divorce. However, Alexa and her family have maintained a close relationship.
While her father is a well-known football player, Alexa proved she is also a talented player on the volleyball court. She played volleyball at The Episcopal School of Dallas before graduating and enrolling at Southern Methodist Church University.
Alexa was a little girl when her parents parted ways; however, her family maintained a close relationship, and both her parents attended her high school graduation. However, a year after her parents' divorce, trouble hit her family again when her mother was arrested.
Alexa Marie Aikman Faced Family Difficulties as a Child
Born on July 30, 2002, in Plano, Texas, Alexa is Troy's youngest daughter, as she has an older sister named Jordan. Alexa was two months away from her ninth birthday when her parents had their marriage legally terminated on April 12, 2011.
Before their divorce, Alexa's parents had sorted through their family assets, and her mother purchased a home worth around $1.5 million in Dallas. In January 2011, Alexa's parents released a joint statement that said:
"We remain deeply committed to our children ... during this period of adjustment."
A year later, Alexa's mother's arrest made headlines as she was arrested for public intoxication outside a high school. Officers from the Murphy Police Department left the police station to investigate a suspicious car parked outside a high school.
And upon arrival, they found Alexa's mother, Rhonda Aikman, intoxicated in the driver's seat with the engine switched off. After her mother was declared a danger to herself and others, she was arrested.
Alexa Is on Her Way to a Business Career
Alexa enrolled at Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business in August 2021 to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree.
Alexa's experience left her with an impressive skill set.
Before kickstarting her life at university, she gave back to her community in Dallas by joining the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas office to learn about non-profit operations.
Due to her knowledge, she co-founded a branch of the UWMD that provided high school students with ways to give back to their community in Dallas as well.
Alexa was a summer Intern at Allie Beth Allman & Associate·for two months, where she gained experience in real estate. After that, she became a Camp Counselor, where she planned, co-organized, and conducted activities for campers.
Alexa's experience left her with an impressive skill set, such as communication, management, and leadership, which will prepare her for her future career in business after she obtains her degree in 2025.
Alexa's Relationship with Her Father and His New Wife
Despite her parents' separation, Alexa shares a close relationship with her mother and father and with her stepmother, Catherine Mooty. In 2021, Catherine took to Instagram to wish Alexa a happy birthday and shared pictures of the pair smiling into the camera.
That same year, Alexa's father joined her on her senior trip, and in 2019, Alexa spent the day bonding with her mother and sister at a sports game.
After splitting from his ex-wife, Alexa's father revealed that he started reading parenting books to learn the ropes on how to be a single father. He said:
"When I became a single dad, I read a lot of books, trying to figure it out... and what I learned is that girls get a lot of their self-confidence from their fathers."
As a result, Alexa's father strived to set an excellent example for his daughters and show them how they deserved to be treated by men.
In 2021, he shared a video montage of throwback pictures of Alexa and her sister in honor of Father's day, which he dubbed Daughter's day, as it was his girls that made it possible for him to be a father.
