"My speech would be slurred. I thought I was fooling people, my cheeks would turn bright red when I was liquored up, and I just looked like a stop sign."

His turnaround moment came after he woke up shaking on a Sunday morning following a long weekend of fun with his friends. John said he was still consuming alcohol despite his dire physical state.
Eventually, he called Anna Beth and "turned himself in" to her. She contacted the appropriate facilities to help rehabilitate her husband, who has been living healthily, dropping 200lbs in his 50s, ever since.
