The topic of Doja Cat's siblings made rounds in recent years as fans speculated how many there were. Some said she had a twin brother or twin sister, while others claimed there were at least seven half-siblings.

Though Doja Cat has been careful not to expose too much about her family, she has given fans a glimpse of her childhood and those who were part of it. During a 2019 interview, the "Say So" songstress revealed that she had siblings who lived far apart in various cities.

Doja Cat didn't grow up in a typical nuclear family; she was raised by a single mother whose love of music later influenced her own. Still, despite not having both her parents and siblings under one roof, she said she felt "blessed."

However, that was as far as she went with details regarding her siblings. Many have raised several theories about how many there are in recent years, and while the "Kiss Me More" artist is yet to address them, one has somewhat been confirmed.

Fans Think Doja Cat Has a Twin

The source of the rumor remained unclear, but Doja Cat's supporters, who also spoke on her weight loss, took to Twitter to speculate on the matter in July 2021. One user claimed that she had a twin brother.

The said user cited a YouTube video where Doja Cat's mother apparently said she and her brother "were born one minute apart." However, this hasn't been confirmed. Someone else tweeted that perhaps instead of a brother, it was a twin sister, which left another Twitter user "shook."

Doja Cat Really Has a Brother

The "Wine Pon You" singer once posted a series of childhood photos on Instagram, some of which included her and a young, slightly older-looking boy who may be her brother. Though it's unknown if he's her twin, she has mentioned him a few times during interviews.

In December 2021, she sat down with Rolling Stone and spoke about her childhood. Doja Cat had grown up without her dad, and reflecting on her upbringing, she said her young mind was confused by her father's absence in her and her brother's lives, which included a few relocations.

Doja Cat's mom once moved her and her sibling to the Sai Anai Ashram in Santa Monica. She said her hyperactive nature was restricted, but her brother blended seamlessly into the ashram's environment.

He found it easier to make friends than she did, but they relocated again to Oak Park in Los Angeles. As mixed-race children whose physical features gave them away, the pair also experienced racial discrimination.

Doja Cat's friends were mainly White and Jewish, and her brother sometimes made fun of her for not having Black friends. The youngster, whose name remains to be known, also influenced his sister's musical style, listening to 50 Cent and Nas, and the two attended the same performing arts school.

Doja Cat's Parents Are Also Artists

Though her relationship with her dad, Dumisani Dlamini, is strained, it's clear Doja Cat descends from a family brimming with talent. Dlamini is a South African actor, musician, and composer best known for performing on the Broadway production "Sarafina!" and its film adaptation.

Her grandmother is a painter, and her mom, Deborah Sawyer, is also a visual artist and fashion designer for men's clothing. Like Doja Cat's brother, Sawyer also influenced her daughter's musical style, having played Seal, Erykah Badu, and The Fugees' music during their childhood.
