Simon Cowell has become famous for his no-nonsense attitude and how he approaches judging shows like "Britain's Got Talent" and "X-Factor." There are many opinions about Cowell, but most are optimistic now that he has become a father.

Cowell became a father late in life but mentioned that he loved it. He thought it might not happen for him because of his age, yet he now shares a beautiful bond with his son and his partner.

For years, Simon Cowell was devoted to his work. He admitted that before his son was born, he worked almost all the time, and only one percent of his life was dedicated to anything other than his job.

He shared that he became obsessed with the ratings of the projects he was working on and only thought about how to beat the competition, which stopped him from enjoying what he was doing and caused him to be extraordinarily stressed. He confessed:

Before his son was born, Cowell thought that devoting his life to work was his only option because he was too old to have a child. On more than one occasion, Cowell revealed that he was content with his life and too old to become a father.

Besides his fatherhood beliefs, Cowell also had strong beliefs about marriage. He said he would never get married because you could get married, and it could all end badly within a matter of years.

He also said that marriage in the entertainment industry was not ideal because of the risks involved with people wanting money and fame. Cowell often talked about his desire not to have children and once confessed:

"I've probably missed the opportunity."

Cowell felt like he would not be a good father as he didn't think he had enough time to dedicate to a child. Getting up early, teaching them things, going to their sporting events, and seeing that they were healthy were all things Cowell did not believe he could do.

After saying all those things, Cowell is now in a committed relationship with Lauren Silverman. He and Silverman share a son, Eric, who Cowell welcomed when he was 54 after saying he wouldn't have the opportunity to have a child.

Silverman and Cowell met in 2004, but their romantic relationship did not begin until 2013. The pair confirmed their relationship and revealed they were expecting a child named after Cowell's late father.

Eric arrived on Valentine's Day, 2014, and the couple was elated at their new arrival. In 2021, in front of the couple's then-seven-year-old son, Cowell asked Silverman to be his wife. Silverman didn't expect the question but said a happy "Yes!"

Both the couple's son and Silverman's son from a previous relationship were there, which was essential to the couple. A source close to the couple talked about Cowell's feelings, saying:

"He's met the woman of his dreams."

After Silverman and Cowell welcomed their son, Cowell admitted his life changed for the better. He stopped focusing so much on his job and instead focused on his child, his stepson, and his partner.

Cowell revealed that he no longer worked throughout the night and instead was happier being at home with his family and taking the time to enjoy their bond, which he would never have done before.

Although nobody close to Cowell thought he would be so happy as a father, he has said it's the best thing to happen to him as it's made him a better person. He confessed:

"I'm a very different man … thank God."

Now, Eric is an eight-year-old boy who sources say is just like his father. However, he is "sweeter and funnier" than his father. He has his father's sense of humor, and Cowell is a wonderful father. Cowell says he doesn't know what would have happened in his life if his son hadn't have been born, but he now has a shining heart.

Cowell is notoriously private about his family. He does not share any details with the public and hardly shares photos of his son on social media. Yet recently, he shared a photo of Silverman and his son, which left fans amazed at how fast Eric had grown up and how much he looks like his father.

The family appeared ecstatically happy in all of their photos, but one thing that fans noticed more than anything else was how much Eric resembled his father and how handsome he was. Many of the comments on the post consisted of people saying as much.

Fans also pinpointed that Eric had grown up rather quickly, as it didn't seem too long ago that Cowell announced he was expecting a child with Silverman. Some fans also mentioned how wonderful it was to see that Cowell had changed.

Comments on the post talked about how Cowell had become much softer and sweeter after becoming a father, and it was a welcome change from the grumpy man the public had become accustomed to. Yet one fan mentioned they always knew Cowell had a good heart.
