Jamie Veronica Murdock Is an Artist - Meet Carole Baskin’s Daughter

Jamie Veronica Murdock was introduced to the world following the scandal surrounding her mother, Carole Baskin. However, she's successfully run a rescue organization for over a decade and made a name for herself as an artist and an award-winning photographer.

Following the release of the true crime series, "Tiger King," the world learned of Carole and the disappearance of her second husband and Jamie's stepdad, Don Lewis. After Jamie was briefly mentioned in the Netflix series, she also found herself under the spotlight.

However, since then, Jamie has emersed herself in the world of art as a wildlife photographer and a successful artist with an extensive collection of pieces. Jamie found love twice through her passion for big cats, and according to her social media, she is also a mother.

Jamie Veronica Murdock Now Leads Her Stepdad's Animal Rescue Organization

After Carole Baskin remarried, Jamie took over her stepfather's rescue organization. According to its website, Big Cat Rescue, Jamie has served as the organization's president for over a decade. Jamie also holds a position on the organization's board of directors.

After spearheading their sponsorship program, Jamie contributed to Big Cat Rescue's financial success and handled the administration behind the organization's volunteer program.

A licensed wildlife rehabilitator, Jamie is also in charge of the sanctuary's bobcat rehab program and oversees rescues, veterinary procedures, and the transfer of animals. Her bio on the sanctuary's website, in part, reads:

"She has successfully raised, rehabilitated, and released many wild Florida bobcats and leads expeditions into the release sites to track and camera trap wild bobcat populations."

Her efforts to successfully run a haven for wildcats have been documented on her Facebook page, where Jamie shares pictures of the wild animals she works with and success stories.

While Jamie had her hands full at Big Cat Rescue, she found time to venture into photography and landed a position as a staff photographer for the sanctuary's quarterly newspaper, Big Cat Times.

The newspaper's 60 000 readers viewed the award-winning photographer's work, and Jamie is also the creative force behind the organization's print and digital advertisements, billboards, books, and brochures.

Jamie's creativity did not stop there, as she expanded her craft into making artwork and selling it on Etsy. She received rave reviews for her pieces, which, at the time of writing, were over 400 pieces.

She called her midcentury-style collection of original artwork, barbecue caddies, wood crafts, squirrel picnic tables, mermaid signs, animal art and photos, antiques, jewelry, and gifts Dancing Butterly Arts. Jamie shared:

"I enjoy exploring my creativity and manifesting it into fun and quirky works of art, including original acrylic paintings, Paw-casso paw print art, woodcrafts, and up-cycled mixed media projects. I also salvage and sell vintage decor and antiques."

Jamie Veronica Murdock's Work with Big Cats Rescue Brought Her Down the Aisle

Big cat Rescue turned out not only to be where Jamie works but also where she found love. After six years of dating, Jamie married a Big Cat Rescue volunteer vet and former intern, Justin Boorstein.

The organization announced the news of Jamie and Justin's wedding on their website, and the couple also shared a montage of their relationship and love of wildlife. However, their relationship did not last, and it is unclear when Jamie and Justin went their separate ways.

On September 2, 2022, Jamie took to Facebook to announce that she was engaged to another Big Cat Rescue employee, Victor Alonso. Victor proposed while the couple was in Africa, and Jamie shared snaps of her engagement ring and the wildlife they were surrounded by.

In 2020, Jamie joined Twitter; however, she did not interact on the account or share any tweets or media. In her bio, she revealed that she made her mother a grandmother when she welcomed four children.
