Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known as Bad Bunny, is the eldest of three brothers. His younger brothers, Bernie Martinez Ocasio and Bysel Martinez Ocasio, are very much his look-alikes.

Bernie is heavily involved in his superstar brother's life and goes everywhere with him. Bad Bunny feels that keeping his younger brothers close to him will help keep his feet on the ground.

Bernie Martínez Ocasio Comes from a Working-Class Family

Bad Bunny's younger brother Bernie was born in 1997, which makes him 26 years old this year. Bernie and his brothers spent their childhood in a working-class community south of Vega Baja in Puerto Rico. He grew up close to his older and younger brother, spending most of their time at home.

Bernie would always be around his parents and brothers. Outside their home, he would spend most of his time playing basketball with his brothers or visiting their friends in the community. His father was a truck driver, and his mother was a teacher; we have looked into the lives of his parents and their special relationship with Bad Bunny.

There was always fun activity around their home with people doing salsa and merengue. His older brother was in tune with music from a young age, singing at his mother's church. Bernie's brother's earliest reggaeton inspiration was Vico C, whose music was clean enough to be accepted by Bernie's parents.

The Ocasio family was an average countryside unit. They had a regular civil experience until the eldest son shot up the music charts. Bernie's brother, Bad Bunny, recalled their experiences of visiting a big mall in the capital city, Plaza las Americas. He described what they would do when they got there:

"You have to understand that I was just a country kid. I didn't even know where I was. I was standing there trying to ask someone, 'Where's Walmart? Where's GameStop?' Whenever I went to Plaza, I went to those little kiosks that had all kinds of candies, with the little bags, and you'd fill them up and weigh them."

He added that they would visit the music stores to marvel at the content on the shelves while aware that they would not buy anything. Occasionally his mother would allow the eldest brother to choose a CD, and it was always a wholesome artist, never something like "the new Daddy Yankee album."

Bernie Martínez Helped His Brother on the Tour

In 2018, Bernie accompanied his brother on tour as his helper. Two years later, Bernie helped his brother shoot a music video for a rock song, "Yo Visto Así." The song is about Bad Bunny refusing to conform to the fashion standards that critics have made for him.

Although Bad Bunny is the global representation, Benito always remembers his family and shows them love every chance he gets despite his low activity on social media.

The song is originally in Spanish, but when translated, the pre-chorus reads, "And the backpack Louis Vuitton, the outfit Flaglag. So much luck, I should play blackjack. If I want, I'll dress like a panda like Jack Black, and them crazy, I have them Hack-A-Shaq'ing me."

The music video includes special guests like Yara Shahidi's "Grown-ish" co-star, Luka Sabbat; Latin movie star Sofía Vergara; and Anuel AA's ex-fiance, Karol G. Bernie and his brothers are always together and attended the 2021 Billboard Music Awards as a unit — necessary, considering Bad Bunny won more than he could carry.

Bernie Martínez Shared What His Brother Was like in His Childhood

Bad Bunny was always a lover of music. His brother Bernie revealed that when it was Christmas, other kids in their town would play with their new toys, while Bad Bunny would play with his CDs. Bernie also mentioned that his brother was a "sensitive, shy kid" who cried throughout a flight to the USA during their first summer vacation.

Bernie's brother was always special and different from the other kids in his town. He was born "unique," Bernie said, and was adored by everybody long before he chose to make music. Bernie began tagging on his brother's tours at the beginning of his career. Their youngest brother was given the same access after graduating high school.

The Ocasio brothers are a tight unit and do not lose sight of where they came started. Although Bad Bunny is the global representation, Benito always remembers his family and shows them love every chance he gets despite his low activity on social media.
