Alan Ritchson's Wife Catherine Ritchson Is Supportive of Him

Catherine and Alan stand by each other through various situations in life, including when Catherine decided to stop drinking alcohol over two years ago. The pair are a comedic couple who enjoy a good laugh. Catherine even describes herself as a "joke judger."

The high school sweethearts were joined in matrimony in 2006, the same year Alan appeared in his first major film. They have since added three children to their family, all boys. That makes Catherine the only female in the Ritchson household.

Catherine Has Known Her Husband for Decades

way back in their high school days, the actor revealed during an interview on "Today With Hoda & Jenna." He added that it was during ballet class, and the hosts surprised him by pulling out a photo of the two in their costumes as they got ready for a show.

Alan continued to discuss the early years of their acquaintance by saying that Catherine used to bring him cookies, a sign that she already knew how to get to his heart. And indeed, that sweet gesture resulted in him falling for his dance partner.

The high school sweethearts tied the knot on May 12, 2006. In 2022, Alan wrote a very long, lovely celebratory message dedicated to Catherine and their marriage on their 16th anniversary, saying:

"16 years ago today @catritchson took a vow and said, 'I do.' What’s good about this is now I can do whatever I want cause she promised in front of like, 16 other people she wouldn’t dump me until I’m dead. She’s very good at keeping promises so I don’t think you have anything to worry about."

For her part, Catherine doesn't shy away from displaying her affection and appreciation for him. She also writes long dedications to her husband. On one occasion, when Alan had been notified that he got the part to be the lead actor on "Reacher," Catherine wrote a detailed account of the moment, saying:

"Then I gasped, 'You got Reacher?!!??' And he nodded with a smile. And tears came and we jumped and screamed and jumped and screamed. Actually, I did all the jumping and screaming, but it was all directly in his ear, so it was a fully immersive experience for us both.⁣"

Catherine Is Open about Her Journey to Quit Drinking

Catherine quit alcohol sometime in 2021, an achievement she never thought she could get, especially in the long run. She revealed her journey through alcoholism

Catherine said she started drinking in college as a way to go with the crowd as she didn't want to feel left behind. What began as drinking socially ultimately became a significant part of her adult life. She got to a point where she would drink every night.

However, Catherine got to a point where she thought drinking every day was not good for her. That prompted her to begin an initiative to reduce her consumption gradually. She felt she would wake up with a purpose on nights she didn't drink. Her husband would join her after he saw that she was serious in her quest.

Catherine Is a Mother of 3

Catherine's home is like a boys' hostel, and she is the matron. The couple has welcomed three boys in their decade and a half as a married couple. In an Instagram post in 2015, while announcing the birth of his third child, Alan revealed the number of children he has, saying:

"Most of you probably have no idea that I'm married and have two amazing little boys (Calem 3yrs and Edan 1.5yrs.) But today, the strongest person I know, @catritchson gave birth to our newest addition, Amory Tristan Ritchson. Say hello!"

Amory was born weighing 7 lbs 12 oz. His father hilariously said he was only allowed to be a football player or a rapper. That means he doesn't want him to follow in his footsteps despite having a very successful career which has seen him feature in top movies alongside great talents like Kevin Hart and Jennifer Lawrence.

The couple's Instagram accounts are filled with pictures of the family, as the two parents are not shy to show their children to the world. After all, when Amory was born, he said that the world needed his joy, innocence, and love.
