Amy Slaton Shares New Pics on a 'Beautiful Day to Smile' as Her Son Turns 8 Months Old
Amy Slaton, one-half of the hit TLC series "1000-Lb. Sisters," took to Instagram to show off her new look after losing considerable weight. Not only did the reality star capture herself looking good, but she also celebrated her second son's milestone following a risky delivery.
On March 7, Slaton shared a picture of herself with bright purple hair and a beaming smile following her drastic weight loss transformation. The mother of two posed in a black dress and clutched a purse, and captioned the Instagram post, "Beautiful day to smile."
The reality star had stayed in good spirits after celebrating her second son turning eight months two days prior. Slaton shared a photo of her youngest son, Glenn Allen Halterman, who was born a delivery that was at risk of complications.
Amy Gave Birth to Her "Precious" Son Glenn via C-Section
In February 2023, Slaton became a mother for the second time when she welcomed Glenn via caesarean section with her husband, Michael. She said:
"My heart is full. Being a mom is what I've wanted to do since I was five years old, and I've always wanted two kids. Our family is finally complete. We can put us in a frame and hang us on the wall now."
Michael revealed that mom and baby were happy and healthy after doctors warned the couple of possible complications due to Slaton's weight. While basking in the bliss of welcoming their bundle of joy, Slaton humorously shared that she had quickly passed off her youngest son to his father once he began peeing everywhere.
Slaton's TLC show captured her and her husband's first moments with their son and her bonding with her baby during skin-on-skin contact.
Slaton became a mother for the first time in 2020 and opened up about the experience on "1000-Lb. Sisters." While holding her newborn in her arms, Slaton recalled seeing his whole life unfold before her eyes.
Her eldest son, Gage Deon Halterman, came into the world weighing five pounds and six ounces. As her son was in the breech position when she went into labor, Slaton also ended up delivering via c-section.
She could not hold him at first following her surgery, but once she had her baby in her arms, Slaton said the moment was "surreal." Slaton's birth surprised her sister, who revealed she felt many emotions, including fear for her sister's health. However, she had nothing to worry about as Amy Slaton is now a happy mother of two.
