Mayim Bialik Brings Nostalgia in a Throwback Snap with 'The Big Bang Theory' Co-star Jim Parsons
After attending Jim Parsons' wedding in 2017, sharing pictures of him on her social media, and joining forces with him for a new project, Mayim Bialik proved she and her former co-star are more than just on-screen love interests but share a close relationship off-screen as well.
On March 9, Bialik took a trip down memory lane when she shared a throwback of her and Parsons at a red carpet event. "Spring 2015, apparently!!" she captioned the post. She wore a blue gown paired with a statement necklace and a neat updo, while Parsons opted for a classic black suit and bow tie.
The Instagram post received over a hundred thousand likes at the time of writing, and as fans took to the comments section, one wrote, "I need The Big Bang Theory back."
Another typed, "Invite him to your BialikBreakdown podcast talk!! Please Mayim," and a third shared, "Is this a kind of hint? Something is "cooking"?... Just asking. Missing both of you working together a lot." A fourth person commented, "Aww, Sheldon, and Amy."

Bialik and Parsons' journey as co-stars began in 2010 when she auditioned for what was meant to be a temporary role. However, thanks to Parsons, Bialiks' character, Amy, ended up sticking around after he fought for her character to be kept on the show. He said:
"There was no choice but to evolve the character. And at some point in season four — I don't know if something caused it or not — I remember saying to Todd, 'I will not let this character go without a fight.'"

In 2017, Bialik celebrated Parsons' marriage to his partner with a picture of the newlyweds walking hand-in-hand. In the caption, Bialik revealed that there was not a single cell phone in sight, as everyone was entirely in the moment.
During an interview in 2021, Bialik revealed that she and Parsons were able to work so well together as acting partners over the years because they were not "overly sentimental as humans." "It was helpful in our acting and also in the way we kind of processed ending a decade together," she added.
Mayim & Jim Later Reunited for a Different TV Show
In 2020, Bialik and Jim Parsons went from acting partners to producing partners when they executively produced the FOX comedy series, "Call Me Kat."
Although they already had experience working together, Bialik shared that "Call Me Kat" would be a new experience for the actors as they would build something from the ground up, whereas with "The Big Bang Theory," Mayim Bialik had joined the cast in the third season.
