Robert Goes Nostalgic and Shares a Few Rare Pics with His Daughter on Her Birthday
Wagner shared three special moments with his daughter. The first photo on the actor's carousel was a family portrait of him, Wood, and Courtney as a baby.
The family looked glamorous; Wood wore a luxurious white off-the-shoulder lace dress and a chunky necklace. Little Courtney matched her mother with a peach lace dress with ruffles, and Wagner looked dapper in a black tuxedo.
The last two pictures are of grown Courtney with her father, the youngest of the actor's three daughters was seen lying on Wagner's chest with a smile. The second image was another special hugging moment between the father and daughter.
Having Lost Her Mom in 7, Courtney Was Raised by Her Doting Dad

However, the mystery surrounding her mother's death even had her father as a suspect at some point, but Courtney has remained extremely close to Wagner.
Nonetheless, Wagner was sure to dismiss all the rumors of him being involved in his wife's death. The family also released a documentary with HBO titled "Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind," and viewers get to know the couple's youngest daughter a bit more.
When Wood died, Wagner ensured he and his daughters had the tightest bond, which remained unbreakable until today.

In 1981 Wagner became an instant single father. He had his daughter Katie during his first marriage. Wood also had her daughter, Natasha from her previous marriage, who was only 11 when her mother died, then the couple welcomed Courtney together.
Wagner had already adopted Natasha before the accident. The father and daughter even have a dedicated conversation about the day Wood died in their HBO documentary.
Katie, the eldest of the siblings, said, "Our bond is stronger than any kind of glue." As the older sister, Katie understood how difficult it was for a seven and eleven-year-old to process the death of a parent, so she did her best to support her family through the tragedy.
Courtney Became Protective of Dad after Rumors That He Was Connected with Her Mom’s Death
Wood's death was unusual, with much uncertainty about how the actress lost her life. Therefore, in 2011, 30 years after her cause of death was confirmed as an accident, the case was reopened.
In 2018, the Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators had Wagner as one of their persons of interest in the investigation. This raised several accusations of the actor being involved in the murder of his wife.
However, Wagner was not worried about what people said about him and his daughter Courtney shut down all the accusations directed at her father.
Courtney went back to reiterate how much she, her siblings, and her father have become inseparable, which made all the allegations people were pointing at Wagner extremely hurtful. Her immediate reaction was to protect and support her father even more.

The 49-year-old revealed that she knew who was behind blaming her father for such an atrocity and felt that her mother's death was used to exploit her family. Courtney also expressed how shocked she was to still see untrue things written about her father after so many years.
Wood's youngest daughter got candid about how she dealt with her mother's death. Courtney confessed to finding ways to numb her pain with drugs and admitted that it went on for many years.
Her reliance on drugs came to a point where Courtney did not even consider exploring other holistic ways of processing her pain; instead, she found herself drowning, "...life was going on without me," she said.

She watched her sisters become mothers, and eventually, it became difficult for her to hide her shame and guilt for missing out on these special moments, but most importantly, Courtney hated how much her father was hurting.
When she realized the heartbreak she was causing her father, Courtney decided to change her life. Though she admits it was a bumpy road to healing, she's proud of the hard work she put in to get herself together.
Courtney also thanked her sister Natasha for including her in Wood's documentary. She was proud of the masterpiece her sister created to honor their mother and was confident Wood was beaming with pride.
