As many stars gathered to attend the 2023 Oscars, Lily Collins was one of the few celebrities not photographed walking the carpet. However, she took a trip down memory when she shared a picture of herself at her first Oscars and sparked a possible comeback for butterfly clips among fans.

In anticipation of this year's Oscars, Lily joined Kendall Jenner and other celebrities when she shared a throwback of her previous appearance at the award show.

The actress's first time walking the Oscars carpet came in 2000, when she, her sister, and stepmother accompanied her father, singer and songwriter Phil Collins, to what turned out to be a very special night for him.

In the Instagram post, which received over a million likes at the time of writing, Lily draped a dark, floral patterned shawl over a long-sleeved dress. She tied the look together with a pearl necklace and butterfly clips in her lengthy, brunette locks.

In the caption, the actress revealed that she had "no regrets" about wearing the clips, which triggered a call for the comeback of butter clips amongst her fans. One user wrote, "I personally think they need to be brought back," and another typed, "Who wouldn't wear butterfly clips to the Oscars should be the question..."

A third person shared, "Those butterfly clips with come back soon, or are they already?" The Oscars' official Instagram account also showed their support for Lily's 2000 look and commented with a butterfly emoticon.

After Lily's father won Best Song for his single "You'll Be In My Heart," he took to the stage and dedicated a piece of his speech to his family, as he wrote the track as a lullaby for Lily, who admitted it was her favorite of her father's songs— and her siblings.

Although Lily Collins was not spotted at this year's Oscars, she was able to show off her bangs, which are here to stay, when she joined Shawn Mendes, Will Smith, Lauren London, and other celebrities backstage at the YouTube Theater at British media personality Jay Shetty's Los Angeles show.

The actress has spent many years making a name for herself and has numerous projects under her belt. However, Lily is most commonly known for playing Emily Cooper in "Emily in Paris." "I get called Emily all the time, especially when I'm out on the street in Paris," she revealed.
