Marlon Wayans Bids His Hair Goodbye – Fan Wonders If He Did It for Jada Pinkett-Smith
Marlon Wayans' hair is all gone—again. This time, his haircut has fueled fan speculation about his recent comedy special, where he joked about the 2022 Academy Awards incident between Will Smith and, according to Marlon, one of the greatest comedians of all time.
Marlon Wayans is fearless in trying new looks and switching up his hairdos. The 50-year-old "Wayans Bros." star recently shared a selfie on Instagram showing his new beauty experiment in the form of a bald head.
He greeted his new look and waved goodbye to his familiar chunk of hair in the caption. In the space of seven hours, Marlon's post has exceeded 23,000 likes and garnered a massive response from fans and friends.
Many of Marlon's fans decided to leave their thoughts on his new look in the comments under his photo. The reception of his new style seems largely positive and encouraging. One user that appeared to be female welcomed Marlon to the bald life, as she adopted the shaven head look as well.
One fan wrote that the hairstyle, or lack of one, looks nice on the comedian. And a third said people remain themselves whether they have hair or not. Among the many positive comments was a fan who applauded Marlon before saying they hoped the hairdo was not for Jada Pinkett Smith.

According to his captions, the "White Chicks" star has embraced the hair chops lately, hoping to channel reinvention, renewal, and leveling up. He also cut much of his facial hair on the same trip to the barber. He posted a selfie showing his trimmed-down beard and mustache and said hi to his uncovered face in the caption.
This is not the first time Marlon has opted for and shared his big chop. In 2020, the actor shared a selfie revealing that he had shaved his hair as he was heading into a transition. Then in 2022, he did the same. Although he was not wholly bald on that occasion, Marlon did not seem to care that he had short hair.
The fan who mentioned Jada did so because of a recent comedy special that Marlon hosted. He joked about Will Smith and Chris Rock's Oscars 2022 incident—an unwelcome joke from Chris that got him assaulted on stage by Will, who, as a result, was banned from the event and replaced by Halle Berry on the Oscars 2023 presenter lineup.
However, Marlon did not joke about Jada's alopecia condition, as he felt he would need to investigate more. Marlon said that he feels Chris was not fully aware of the actress's illness when he made her hair loss the butt of the joke last year.
The actor mentioned that although he joked about the unexpected incident, he did it out of love. He said, "I love Will; I love Jada; I love Chris. I say that in my special. I'm not coming as an enemy. I'm coming as a friend with love, going, 'here's what's funny about it.'"
Marlon's comedy special, "God Loves Me," was released on March 2, 2023, on HBO Max. The trailer shows the comedian teasing all the conversation-stirring jokes from his HBO stand-up special.
One of his talking points was his take on what he would have done if he had been involved in the Oscars incident. Another one of his headline-birthing trailer scenes was him speaking about his concealed crush on Jada.
At the beginning of the trailer, he gives a simple breakdown of what happened at last year's Oscars, referring to Chris as "one of the greatest comedians of all time," ironic, as he was assaulted for a joke.
