Mayim Bialik Debuts New Shorter Haircut and Fans Approve Her Look: 'Short Hair Is so Fun'

Mayim Bialik has played around with different hairstyles over the years and recently took to Instagram to show off her big chop. In the past, the actress has changed from different hairstyles in a snap of a finger and revealed her secret to how.

On March 23, Bialik shared a selfie of her new look as she sported a much shorter haircut than her usual nearly-shoulder-length locks. However, fans weren't missing her old hairstyle as they took to the comments section to gush about Bialik's hair.

"Looks so good!!! I love it!!!" one fan wrote, and another added, "Looks awesome!!! Short hair is so fun!" A different user commented, "WOW! I love this look on you! Sending love energy," and a fourth shared, "Yess, I love it! I cut mine similar and never regretted it."

As Bialik smiled into the camera in the Instagram post, her brown hair ended just below her ears, and she captioned the post, "Sometimes the best lighting just happens to be in the bathroom. New hair!"

In the past, whether she was hosting "Celebrity Jeopardy!" or starring in her TV series "Call Me Kat," Bialik has been able to change her hairstyle with a snap of a finger. And in a humorous Instagram video, she revealed how: with hair extensions.

The actress posted a video of herself in what appeared to be a dressing room and said, "You know sometimes they say if you don't want to see how the sausage is made?" She then panned the camera to a wall of chocolate brown hair extensions of different lengths.

"People may not know I have short hair under all those extensions. LOL," she captioned the post, which received over 23,000 likes at the time of publication. In 2019, Bialik joked about how her appearance changes and shared two side-by-side pictures of herself where she looked slightly different.

The post had the writing, "98.7% match," and the "The Big Bang Theory" star humorously captioned the post, "I'm wearing 1.3% false lashes and hair extensions?#twinning #lol." However, while Bialik was able to make light of her ever-changing hairstyles, sometimes the actress's looks had sentimental value.

After the finale of "The Big Bang Theory," Mayim Bialik said goodbye to her character Amy— who wore her hair long and straight— by chopping off her hair and rocking a wavy bob. She debuted the new look on Instagram as well and thanked her hairstylist for a "new" her and for holding her hand through the "transition."
