Lorenza Newton Was Guillermo del Toro's Wife for More than Three Decades
Guillermo del Toro is one of the best filmmakers of the modern day and has hit several milestones. While he and Lorenza Newton went their separate ways, Guillermo del Toro's wife took part in the filmmaker's career. She once directed one of his films.
Guillermo is a filmmaker born in Mexico on October 09, 1964. He developed his passion for filmmaking as a teenager and began making short films.
It wasn't until when he turned 21 that he decided to pursue filmmaking professionally, and he produced his first feature film, "Dona Herlinda and Her Son," in 1985. A year later, Guillermo married Lorenza Newton, and they lived together for over three decades before calling it quits.

During their time together, Guillermo pursued his career and won many accolades, including the Oscar and Golden Globe Awards.
Guillermo Del Toro Was Married to Lorenza Newton for More than 30 Years
Guillermo and Newton started seeing each other while studying at the Instituto de Ciencias in Guadalajara, Mexico, and they tied the knot in 1986. Per IMDb, Newton now works as a veterinarian, but she also has directing credits. She was an art director on Guillermo's 1985 short horror film "Dona Lupe."

In the course of working together, Kim, who is also a director, began dating Guillermo. The pair secretly exchanged vows in 2021 and have since been serving couple goals on the red carpet.
In 2018, after receiving an Oscar Award for Best Director and Best Picture, Guillermo announced that he and Newton had gone their separate ways after being together for over 30 years.
The announcement came during an interview with Mexican mag Reforma after Guillermo walked the red-carpet holding hands with scriptwriter Kim Morgan. Questions about Lorenza Newton's whereabouts soon followed.

While discussing his marital status, Guillermo explained that he and Newton had separated in February 2017. He clarified that he finalized their divorce in September of the same year, but only a few people knew.
Guillermo Del Toro and Lorenza Newton Have Two Daughters
Even though Guillermo is quite secretive about his love life, he and Newton share two daughters: Marisa and Mariana. The Award-winning filmmaker has attended red-carpet events with his daughters in the past, but the girls have been keeping a low profile in recent years.

Guillermo credits his success to his daughters and gives them special thanks in several of his movies, like the romance film "Crimson Peak" in which Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston co-starred, and also the 2013 drama film "Pacific Rim." Also, whenever Guillermo receives an award, he recognizes his daughters and appreciates them in his acceptance speeches.
Guillermo Del Toro Says New Wife Kim Morgan Is the Love of His Life
Guillermo and Kim Morgan began working together the same year he separated from Newton. He clarified to the Mexican magazine that Morgan was not the cause of his divorce from Newton and that the two began working after he had separated from the mother of his kids.
