Randy Orton's Wife Kim Marie Kessler Was His Fan before They Met
WWE superstar Randy Orton is married to Kim Marie Kessler. They have been husband and wife for seven years. After being raised in a large family, Kessler now has her own big family with the famous wrestler.
Kessler started as just a big fan of the wrestler and was part of his fan club. However, when the pair met, Orton was the first to approach her and ask for her name. They began dating a while after and married in 2015.
Kessler is a business owner and has been involved in a podcast about wrestlers' wives. She had three children before she married Orton. Together they have one child, born in 2016.
Kim Marie Kessler Comes from a Large Family
Kessler comes from a massive family with Puerto Rican and Italian roots. She grew up in New York, initially in Brooklyn until she was 12, before moving to Queens when she was around 26. Her zodiac sign is Aries, and she thinks that is why she is very feisty.
For Kessler's family, the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks were a personal tragedy. Kessler's uncle Joseph Amatuccio, who worked in the World Trade Center, was killed during the tragic events.
After growing up in a large family, Kessler also started her own. She has three children from previous relationships. Her son Anthony turned 12 in April 2022. Another son, Rob, had his senior prom that same year, while Michael celebrated his 19th birthday in 2021.
Kim Is the Owner of a Clothing Store
When she is not busy with her family duties, Kessler runs a shopping and retail store called SLTHR, which she owns. It, among other products, sells self-made merchandise ranging from T-shirts, hoodies, and vests for men, women, and kids. Additionally, they also have face masks, mugs, and socks.
In February 2022, Kessler, Kurt Angle's wife Giovanni Angle, and Emmy-Award-winning broadcaster Jon Alba launched "The Wives of Wrestling podcast." Discussion on the show included what it entails to take care of a household while their wrestling husbands travel around with the WWE wagon.
The show took place every Monday and comprised a personal Happy Hour. Various household topics were discussed, including managing kids' extra-curricular schedules, household chores, and having to leave home to support their husbands. Unfortunately, the podcast only lasted until August 2022.
Kessler is also very active on social media. She had quite a large following on her Instagram, with over 480k followers. Much of her content is centered around her family and personal life. It also keeps fans updated on some aspects of Orton's life.
Kim Knew in Advance That Randy Would Fall in Love with Her
Kessler admitted that she had a massive crush on Orton before the pair met. She told WWE Network's "Unfiltered with Renee Young:" "In my brain, way before I met him, he was my boyfriend. So he was all over my house way before I met him."
Orton first thought that tales of her admiration for him were exaggerated but believed them when he met Kessler's family, and they told him the same thing. Orton and Kessler first encountered each other at a WWE event in New York City, Kessler's hometown. The nervous wrestler was the first to approach her and ask for her name.
The pair began dating a while later, but Kessler did not immediately disclose to her family that she was in a relationship with the famous wrestler. Instead, Orton said she would tell her children that she was going to meet Sandy Norton whenever they would go out. Interestingly, the kids were wrestling fans too.
In July 2015, while on vacation in Bora Bora, Orton asked Kessler to marry him during a candlelit dinner. The proposal did not quite go to plan for Orton. The wrestler had the ring hidden under a napkin and wanted to propose while the pair danced. However, he misplaced the ring, and it slid down his pants.
After asking the big question, Kessler is said to have immediately started laughing. Orton explained the reaction saying, "I don't think she thought I was really going to propose to her. So all of these emotions hit her at once."
Still, the unsuspecting Kessler said yes, and the couple exchanged their vows four months later in Las Vegas. They were surrounded by the whole family, including Kessler's three sons and Orton's daughter.
That same year, Orton and Kessler had matching tattoos of each other's names inked on their index fingers. Kessler revealed on her Twitter page, posting a picture of the tattoos and a caption, "[I]t was worth the pain." The following year, the couple welcomed their daughter, Brooklyn Rose, bringing the number of their kids to five.
While discussing their families alongside fellow wrestlers The Miz and Christian, Orton revealed that his stepkids used to think he was cool before he became their father. However, he would not change the dynamics in his house for the world.
Kim Performed the RKO
Orton and Kessler have been together for seven happy years and are still going strong. Kessler says that Orton is the man of her dreams and enjoys facing the world with him.
She is very involved in her husband's career and usually voices her opinions on social media. In 2018, she said she disapproved of leaving Orton out of Raw's 25 anniversary which featured top WWE talent such as Roman Reigns.
In March 2021, she was also angered by Alexa Bliss's pinning move on her husband after Bliss and Orton had been involved in a rare intergender fight on WWE. The unusual move had aroused controversy amongst wrestling supporters, including Kessler, who was angered by it.
Kessler is not only a wrestling fan but knows a thing or two about the sport. In 2019, Orton shared a hilarious video of his wife delivering his signature finishing move, the RKO, on him. The move was quite popular with fans and won the wrestler many matches including against greats such as John Cena.
