- After the show ended, he met his future wife in the crime drama series, "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit." Thanks to her, he overcame his substance addiction.
- Stamos now lives in a house surrounded by flowers and cares for his one and only son.
Actor John Stamos is famously known for his stint in the hit sitcom, "Full House," which ran for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995. He played Jesse Katsopolis, who moved in with his brother-in-law, Danny Tanner.
Tanner is a widower in the series raising his three daughters: DJ, Michelle, and Stephanie. Uncle Jesse, a rocker, joins the family to help raise them.

At first, Jessie hesitated to move in with the family of four but eventually warmed up to the girls and realized he enjoyed being a parental figure in their lives.
Stamos, who has two younger sisters in real life, stood out on the show, in addition to the series being an ensemble. His good looks, fun personality, and musical abilities were a perfect balance between his and Tanner's traditional parenting techniques.

Stamos, whose father was of Greek descent, with the family last name initially being "Stamotopoulos," also worked behind the scenes and was responsible for reviving the series after it ended in 1994. In addition, he requested a last name change to his character, which was initially Cochran, and went with Katsopolis in order to highlight his Greek heritage.
The California native's role in the TV show garnered him a good reputation. He became a fixture in many people's lives: being the heartthrob that never breaks hearts, a pal that never lets one down, and an individual who has been considered one of the most underrated stars of all time.

Despite his perfect image professionally, the same could not be said about his personal life, although it seemed like that from the outside. Stamos, whose first professional role was Blackie Parrish in "General Hospital," admitted in a 2022 interview that there had been times when he felt indifferent about his life:
"For the longest time, when I was not sober, when I was fuzzy, I thought, 'I've done it all.' I didn't want to kill myself, but I didn't care if I died."
However, he later realized he wasn't done at all. "Not even close," he said.

The TV star got a wake-up call in 2015 after being arrested for driving under the influence. When recalling that fateful evening, Stamos shared he got inside his car thinking he could still drive, but he couldn't.
"I just have flashes in my mind about driving in circles. And people were driving near me, and they would roll the window down, 'Uncle Jesse, pull over!'" he recounted.

Following that incident, the musician went to rehab, which he described as the most challenging thing he had ever done. A pal would call and tell him his mother was concerned about him. The friend told the Soap Opera Digest Award winner that his mom would call and say, "I’m worried about Johnny."
Stamos admitted he had fooled everyone but that after that experience, he had to pull himself together. In fact, he did turn on a new leaf and found love while at it.
Family Life after "Full House"
Stamos,59, was a bachelor before everything changed in 2015 when he met actress Caitlin McHugh, 36, whom he described as "perfect" during a 2017 interview.
The pair, who have a 23-year age gap, first crossed paths while filming an episode of the crime drama series, "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" back in 2011.
"I played a guy who was egotistical that he thought he should spread his progeny, so he had like 60 kids or something. He was poking holes in condoms and stuff," Stamos recalled in an interview in December 2017.
Interestingly enough, McHugh was one of the women he was trying to have a child with on the show. Off-screen, she was involved with someone else, but they reunited several years later.
In a reboot of "Full House," called "Fuller House," which aired from 2016 to 2022, McHugh's roommate appeared in one episode of the ABC series, and she was in the audience.
Stamos walked in and asked her whether she was following him around, to which she replied, "No." He said, "That's why I love her. She's like, 'What?' No. I haven't thought of you twice."
Nonetheless, the pair fell in love, and in October 2017, Stamos asked McHugh to marry him. He proposed at Disneyland after learning they were expecting their first child together. Stamos first asked for the blessing of the model's parents, who told him it was about time.
McHugh is an active Disneybounder, described as a superfan who dresses up in character at the amusement park. So, with that in mind, her love thought it best to pop the big question at the park in Disneyland.
Of that special moment, Stamos revealed they both shed tears. "I pulled the ring out. I don't know how she did it, but she went to hug me and slipped her finger right in it. When the park closed, we ran around the park in our Disney onesies."
The lovebirds, who have been married before, walked down the aisle in 2018 and welcomed their only child together, son Billy, that same year. Stamos gave an update about his life as a family man during an interview in August 2021.
The father of one revealed the best part of his day is when he and his now 4-year-old son wake up for their early morning routine. The youngster usually suggests they head to the kitchen, where he helps him make some coffee.
When speaking about his son's eating habits, Stamos, who revealed being good at making breakfast, divulged that Billy loves having egg sandwiches. The "Big Shot" alum's egg-making skills date back to the family restaurant in Southern California, as his father owned a fast-food restaurant chain.
They had a 99-cent breakfast special, and Stamos recalled remembering every single order of how people wanted their eggs cooked.
Speaking more about his son Stamos revealed the boy enjoys visiting his home office to look for snacks. He also shared he had a unique nickname for him. "I call him King Stamo because he rules!" said the proud dad.
The doting parent cherishes the little moments spent with his family, especially since he thought he would never have one before, saying:
"I always wanted to have kids, but I didn't think I'd meet the right person. And maybe I felt like well, I have everything, I shouldn't be greedy."
Stamos credits his beautiful wife, McHugh, for helping him keep his life in order. He did not initially feel he deserved to have a spouse and a child, but he chose sobriety, and it made his life better.
When the mother of his child came into his life, Stamos instantly knew that things had fallen into place. He told himself that he needed to be better to make things work.
When it comes to keeping their marriage intact, Stamos and McHugh rely on communication and keep the spark alive by going out on date nights. The pair make it a habit of "surprising" one another occasionally.
Stamos revealed the writer once took him to the Lavender Festival, and he had a blast. "The simplest things are what we strive to get back into," he explained. The duo cannot imagine life without their child, but whenever they can, they try by all means to do something for themselves.
The "You" star joked that after enjoying quality time together, they would return home to their son, who is always screaming. Still, despite all the chaos, Stamos said it was what he had always desired:
"My dreams came true 100 times over."
In January 2023, Stamos revealed how his son calms himself down. He posted a TikTok video of his child teaching viewers how to meditate before bedtime. The little one shared that the routine helps him calm down.
Billy also taught his parents the same routine which he learned from school. In a demonstration, he held up both hands and repeated the phrase, "Peace begins with me."

Stamos and his family reside in Los Angeles, where they purchased their enormous home. The mansion, located in the Hidden Hills community, cost the star $5.75 million.

The TV was mounted to the stone wall accent, and on the corner was a black piano from Steinway & Sons from the 1940s. It is one of the first things Stamos purchased earlier in his career.
Next to the musical instrument was a side table with a typewriter on top, a birthday gift from fellow actor Tom Hanks. The Spanish-style home, which featured a family wall, lemon trees, and a vegetable garden, was listed on the market for $5.8 million.
