Alycia Debnam-Carey's Partners & Dating Life Are Aspects She Has Kept Very Private
Alycia Debnam-Carey has captivated audiences with her character portrayals on high-profile TV shows, leading curious fans to speculate about her dating history and sexuality. While the actress has done her best to guard her love life's privacy, it has been riddled with rumors over the last several years.
Alycia Debnam-Carey's career nearly took a musical direction. The 29-year-old studied classic percussion at the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts in Australia, graduating with flying colors in 2011. She felt the school facilitated her creativity while simultaneously pursuing an acting career.
The Sydney-born actress made her first on-screen appearance at eight, starring in the short film "Martha's New Coat" in 2003. After relocating to the US at 18, where she focused more on acting, Debnam-Carey landed her breakout role as Commander Lexa in CW's "The 100" in 2014.

Recently, she's been leading as fan-favorite Alicia Clarke in AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead," a prequel to the network's original series "The Walking Dead," with Colman Domingo and Frank Dillane. She will soon star in the Hulu film adaptation of Alexis Schaitkin's novel, "Saint X." As Debnam-Carey's work promises a lengthy and illustrious career, her love life has been a different story.
Alycia Debnam-Carey Keeps Her Love Life a Mystery
Debnam-Carey's dating life has been the subject of speculation since the star graced the spotlight. She was once rumored to be dating a man named Marcus Catsaras, a program designer, music producer, and environmental enthusiast. Like Debnam-Carey, Catsaras was from Sydney and attended the Newtown High School of Performance Arts.

Sources claim he and Debnam-Carey met while attending the institution, even providing a photo of the two cozied up in the school's uniform. In the early stages of the speculation, fans initially confused Catsaras with Debnam-Carey's former co-star Max Deacon, labeling the actor as Debnam-Carey's boyfriend in photos of them together.
Her relationship with Catsaras is said to have lasted between 2011 and 2016, during which they appeared on each other's social media pages in now-deleted posts. Regarding why they separated, several reports claim that a hacker leaked photos of Catsaras, depicting him reportedly indulging in intimate acts with other women.

Debnam-Carey never addressed the controversy, and soon after it occurred, the hacker's Twitter account was frozen, and the pictures were erased from the internet. However, while there seems to be somewhat of a timeline for Debnam-Carey and Catsaras' romance, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt.
Debnam-Carey has never publicly addressed her love life, neither confirming nor denying any claims attached to it. About a year after her alleged split from Catsaras, she told MTV that she had a "difficult relationship" with social media and found it challenging to communicate on the medium. At the time of this writing, it appeared the actress was single.
There Were Rumors about Alycia Debnam-Carey's Sexuality
They began following her on-screen romance in "The 100" with the show's lead character Clarke, played by Eliza Taylor. The two, who developed a loving bond off-screen, had undeniable chemistry in the series. But just as their romance peaked, Debnam-Carey's character, Commander Lexa, was killed off the show.
The sudden turn of events caused an uproar from fans worldwide, leading to a petition for Lexa's return. The crux of the backlash centered on Hollywood's disregard for LGBTQ representation in film and television by treating characters who identify with that community as "disposable."
The show's creator even issued an apologetic statement explaining why Debnam-Carey had to leave. While appearing on "The 100," she also starred in "Fear the Walking Dead." The latter TV production took precedence for the actress, who explained that her exit wasn't "an attempt to aggravate a social situation."
Since their love story in a dystopian world was cut short, fans have requested a Debnam-Carey and Taylor romantic comedy. Others have speculated that perhaps Debnam-Carey was also a member of the LGBTQ community (the same as actor Christopher Meloni), and while some fans are convinced, others await her confirmation.
