Zaya recently took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her photoshoot with Dazed magazine with her fans. The teenager posed in very fashion-forward pieces and revealed she had her father's support on the big day, who has photographed helping his daughter fix her outfit.

The model on the rise also captured the first moment she saw her shoot in the magazine in real life on her Instagram story, and in a touching gesture, she gifted her father a signed copy of the magazine. The retired NBA star also took to his Instagram story to share a snap of the autographed magazine.

On the cover, Zaya penned the sweet message, "To Dad: I love you." Dwayne was also one proud father when he shared a picture of Zaya, who was granted an official name change and assignment of gender by a Los Angeles county judge in February, during her first board meeting about Dazed magazine's release.

Zaya Wade Balances Her Fashion Career While Still Attending High School

Since coming out as transgender, Zaya has been a trailblazer in the fashion world and documented her runway debut in early March when she walked for Miu Miu during their winter collection at fashion week. In another post, the model shared a behind-the-scenes look at the moments leading up to and including her big day, including a sentimental moment between her and her father hugging.

While the teenager's modeling career is on the rise, she still enjoys the everyday normalcy of a high school student, like hanging out with her friends. When Zaya Wade was in middle school, the idea of entering high school seemed daunting. However, she's come to love the experience, enjoys her classes, and has managed to achieve a perfect work-life balance between algebra on Monday and a photo shoot on Friday.

Her journey thus far has inspired many, and for those trying to figure themselves out and live "a more authentic life," Zaya advised, "Protect your peace. [You should] recognize that you have gone through a life-changing experience and that you deserve peace. You deserve a moment – multiple moments – to step back and take some time to sit with yourself and, in any manner of way, just escape negativity as much as you can."
