Richardson immediately started making phone calls when her husband regained consciousness and managed to find a place he could go to where he could purge the drugs in his system and begin healing.

The star said he didn't go to rehab because his wife had told him to but because he knew it was best for him. He was tired of being addicted to illicit substances and sought the relief of being clean and sober.

When asked whether or not he could have come through the experience without Richardson by his side, he admitted:

"I credit her because she could have just taken Zoe and walked out and been done with me. But she didn't. That's a greater love than I will ever know."

Jackson believes his wife "saved his life" and cannot thank her enough for sticking by his side throughout the ordeal. He knows his wife and daughter are the reason for his getting up. He has often publicly thanked them, like when he won his Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 BET Awards.

Richardson admitted that she also knew she could take her daughter and walk out on Jackson, but she heard God telling her that she couldn't leave him in that state and that she should help him.
