Alexandra Shipp Shared How She Sings and It Is ‘Heartbreakingly Beautiful to Listen To'

Alexandra Shipp is commonly known for her talent in front of the camera but proved she is an equally talented singer. The "Love, Simon" actress recently shared a video of herself singing and wowed fans with her beautiful vocals.

In a recent Instagram video, Shipp gently strummed a few chords on a guitar and angelically sang the lyrics, "When you string me along..." The clip of the actress singing received nearly 4,000 likes at the time of writing, and she captioned it, "Sometimes you hang on when u kno u shouldn't (sic.)"

The actress's fans flooded her comments section with praise, with one fan writing, "I wasn't expecting this, but this is heartbreakingly beautiful to listen to. Bravo." Another fan shared, "I'm crying!!! This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, sos," and a third commented, "That's so powerful, thank you for sharing this art!"

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Shipp moved to Los Angeles to start a career in acting when she was 17. She made her debut in a film in 2009 when she played Valentina in Fox's "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" and has since gone on to land roles in other successful projects.

In 2014, she starred as the late RnB singer Aaliyah in Lifetime biopic, "Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B," which gave fans a sneak peek at Shipp's dancing and singing skills. That same year, she starred in "Drumline: A New Beat," the sequel to VH1's 2002 movie "Drumline."

In 2015, she played Kim in the Oscar-nominated movie "Straight Outta Compton," which also went on to become the highest-grossing music biopic. Shipp showed no signs of slowing down and reprised the role of Storm from Halle Barry in Twentieth Century Fox's "X-Men: Apocalypse." Seeing as she had big shoes to fill, Shipp wanted to add a twist to the heroine and received praise for what was widely considered her breakout role.

Shipp shared the screen with Nick Robinson in the coming-of-age story "Love, Simon" in 2018 and landed roles in four movies in 2019: "A Dog's Way Home," " Shaft, "Jexi," and she made a comeback as Storm in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix."

Fans can look forward to seeing the actress in the upcoming live-action of the iconic character Barbie. Alexandra Shipp was cast to star in the movie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and took to Instagram to share a poster and trailer for the movie expected to hit theatres in June.
