Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are a celebrity power couple who have both made a fortune through years of being in the entertainment industry. Despite this, they live a very modest lifestyle, wanting to teach their children the value of hard work and earning your own keep.

Despite this, the Kutchers try to indulge themselves once in a while. Enjoying the fruits of their labor, they recently took a family trip to Venice with their children, 8-year-old Wyatt Isabelle and 6-year-old son Dimitri Portwood.

The Kutchers' fun European excursion was like any other family vacation – they rode one of Venice's iconic gondolas, cruising through the town's canals. Throughout the ride, Kutcher and Kunis took pictures of their two children so they'd have something to look back on.

The photos won't likely ever end up on the celebrity couple's social media accounts, especially since they've refused to show pictures of their children online. This is also the reason why they turn down fans' requests for photos with them whenever they're out with their children.

Despite having all the money to hire a tour guide, Kutcher and Kunis decided to keep things simple by navigating the town themselves. They used a trusty map to lead their kids toward their next destination, the Rialto Bridge.

The couple savored every single moment on the bridge. They snapped the sweetest photos, even sharing a smooch for one of the snaps. They snuggled up against one another and shared a hug with their children before going on about their day.

The Kutcher family tried not to attract any attention during their tour. Kunis, known for her role in "Black Swan," paired her jeans with a simple shirt, cardigan, and sneakers, while Kutcher wore an all-denim outfit with a baseball hat and a face mask.

After the trip, they returned to their local Los Angeles, where they're often spotted spending quality time together. Fresh from their Italian vacation, Kutcher and Kunis were seen walking around their Bel-Air neighborhood one morning.

True to their laid-back nature, Kunis was wearing a simple gray sweatshirt, a pair of black sweatpants, and sneakers. Likewise, Kutcher dressed comfortably in a hoodie, a pair of gray trousers, sneakers, and his signature baseball cap.

Despite being Hollywood staples, Kutcher and Kunis put great importance on their family and try to live as normally as possible. They make the most of their free time together and spend their days with their children like typical families do.

Recently, Kutcher was seen carrying piles and packages of food for his family, as he quietly stepped out of a local restaurant and walked toward his electric Hummer SUV.

Kutcher tried to keep it as lowkey as possible, despite paparazzi snapping photos and taking videos around him. He didn't cause a scene and instead went about his business.

They Wed with Rings from Etsy and Worried Their Kids Would Be Spoiled Brats

Kutcher and Kunis have come a long way since their days as co-stars on "That '70s Show." They played love interests, but even then, they only stayed as friends.

It was only in 2001 that Kutcher found out he was Kunis' first kiss, which happened on the show. The revelation shocked him, but he was ultimately glad to have only discovered it years later. After all, kissing a then-teenager already scared him – knowing he was her first kiss would have been too nerve-wracking.

While they were co-stars, Kunis already had the biggest crush on Kutcher. She found him cute and was so nervous and uncomfortable after finding out she had to kiss him on the show.

However, Kutcher made it more bearable for her by making her laugh and giving her compliments. Their chemistry would have made anyone think their romance would blossom off-air, but that didn't happen.

They went on to have their own relationships through the years until they crossed paths at an awards show just shortly after Kutcher split from his long-time wife, Demi Moore. Kunis admitted she was blown away once more by her handsome ex-co-star during that run-in.

From there, the former co-stars reconnected, with Kutcher inviting Kunis to his housewarming party. That night, Kunis slept over at Kutcher's home, and it was the first time she had done that while single, she admitted.

Since that day, there was no turning back. The actors began dating, but under the premise that they would never get married. However, a year into the relationship, they called off all bets and decided to get married in a whirlwind wedding. Kutcher gave Kunis a gorgeous engagement ring, and the rest was history.

Looking back at their journey, Kunis was the first to admit that their relationship happened at the right time. Since she was only a teenager when she first met Kutcher on "That '70s Show," she knew they both had a lot of growing up to do for their relationship to work out the way it did. If it had happened earlier, they wouldn't be where they are.

During their time together, the couple challenged one another to be better. One thing that Kunis learned along the way was how to be frugal despite having a sizeable net worth.

Kutcher was from Iowa, while Kunis was born in Ukraine before relocating to Los Angeles. Both know what it's like to grow up poor, so they see the value of money and try to save as much as possible.

In fact, Kunis is so frugal that she bought their wedding rings on Etsy. When she discovered how pricey custom-made wedding rings were, she decided to take a chance on one of the online sellers.

At the time, she wanted a thin yet sturdy platinum band but wasn't willing to spend a fortune on it, so the seller customized the band for her and only charged her $90. Likewise, Kutcher's band was purchased from the same shop for only $100.

When it came to their children, Kutcher and Kunis were clear about one thing early on: they didn't want them to grow up spoiled. They didn't want their children to think they were rich and instead, wanted them to value hard work. Kunis shared:

"It's so important because we both came from pretty solid poverty backgrounds and grew up very poor and very much self-made and are very aware of what a dollar is worth. Nothing's been handed to us."

The Family of 4 Lives in a Barn-Style Home

When Kutcher and Kunis decided to build their own house, they didn't want just any other estate – they wanted to build a home. They purchased a six-acre hilltop property, which they turned into a barn-style house with crops planted around it. They call their home "KuKu Farms."

While guesting on "LIVE with Kelly and Ryan," the "Luckiest Girl Alive" actress admitted the style of their home was centered over the chandelier they once had in their previous property. They wanted the chandelier to look less obnoxious, so they built a barn around it.

"We wanted a home, not an estate," Kunis told Architectural Digest during an interview. Kutcher echoed what his wife said, admitting they wanted the house to look like an old barn that had been on the property for decades. "But it also had to feel modern and relevant," he clarified.

More than building the house itself, Kutcher and Kunis wanted to ensure it was sustainable and nurturing. Kunis was pregnant with their first child when they started building the home, so they wanted everything to be safe and sustainable so their children could adopt the same lifestyle.

They opted to use solar panels rather than electricity to power their home. They also ventured into regenerative farming so that the food they ate was pure and the water they drank was clean.

Years later, Kutcher and Kunis have two grown children running around their home. It took them five years to finish their modern farm home and to fill their garden with fresh produce, budding trees, and herbs.

It was Kutcher's idea to get everyone involved in the farm. He wanted his entire family to work on it together, and Kunis was easily on board with the thought that her children would grow up knowing the value of vegetables and how much work it took to grow them.

The Kutchers moved into their home four months before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. It was during their time in quarantine that they realized how blessed they were to have a self-sustaining home.

They cared for their crops together and harvested them when needed. They had everything they needed in their backyard, and it kept them sane during a time when their home was the only place they could be.

When it comes to their children, one way they've tried to keep them in check is to remind them that while their parents earn a decent amount of money and have savings in a bank account, they don't.

In the same way the couple is hands-on with their farm, they've been hands-on with raising their children since the beginning. While Kunis took care of breastfeeding duties, Kutcher volunteered to change all the dirty diapers.

"When my child was born, I was breastfeeding, and he said, 'That's your connection. I want to change every diaper,'" Kunis shared. He was true to his word, and regardless of where they were, he changed every diaper, no matter how inconvenient it might have been.

Now that their kids are all grown, Kutcher finds ways to connect with them outside diaper changing. Tending to their farm and teaching them the right values about living life are some of them.

Part of their connection is making their children lead normal lives away from the spotlight. While it's inevitable that people approach their family when they're out in public, Kutcher and Kunis constantly act like they're just like everybody else, especially around their children.

Wyatt and Dimitri Think They are "Very Poor"

Despite being famous celebrities, Kutcher and Kunis try to live their lives as normally as possible. In fact, Kunis proudly sells goods her family no longer uses on eBay because the site allows her to get rid of their items while remaining anonymous.

Instead of splurging on expensive luxury items, the “Friends with Benefits" actress also admitted to having an Amazon addiction. She is glad that the platform has everything she needs and even joked that her purchases are the reason why Amazon has been expanding its reach.

When it comes to their children, one way they've tried to keep them in check is to remind them that while their parents earn a decent amount of money and have savings in a bank account, they don't. From a very young age, Kunis joked that they would tell their two children that they were "very poor" and had nothing.

From Kutcher's perspective, he wants to teach his kids how to be resourceful so that they know exactly what to do in case they need to be. After all, the "No Strings Attached" actor plans not to leave them a trust fund. Instead, he and Kunis plan to give their money away to charity and other noble causes.

The couple shares the same thoughts in wanting their children to learn the value of a dollar. So, rather than handing them money for no reason, Kutcher would rather invest it in a business idea that his children come up with.

With such hands-on parents in Kutcher and Kunis, Wyatt and Dimitri have the best role models for them to grow up holistically. Not only will they learn to value money, but they'll learn to value nature and themselves along the way.
