Julián Figueroa's wife, Imelda Garza Tuñón, is in mourning after losing the love of her life, singer Julián Figueroa, with who she shares a son. The celebrated singer, who wrote a cryptic message to his late dad the day before he died, has left behind a beautiful family and fans that will miss him greatly.

For fans of Mexican sentimental love songs, the sudden death of singer-songwriter Julián Figueroa has hit hard. The singer, known for his tear-jerking tunes and roles in famed telenovelas, was only 27 when he met his untimely death on Sunday, April 9.

Figueroa, the son of the legendary crooner and songwriter Joan Sebastian and "Black Lace" actress Maribel Guardia, died at his home in the Pedregal area, south of Mexico City.

According to his mother's statement, Figueroa was found unconscious in his room, and by the time the ambulance and police got to him, he was already gone. She says the doctor's reports indicated he died from a heart attack.

Besides cementing his place as a beloved actor, musician, and the only son of the Costa Rican-Mexican actress, Figueroa was also a family man, having been married to singer Imelda Garza Tuñón for years.

Figueroa and Tuñón's love story dates back when they were 18 and 16, respectively. Figueroa asked Tuñón to be his girlfriend, and the lovebirds have been together since.

Their relationship took a step forward when the two got engaged in 2013 before finally walking down the aisle in 2017. Like her husband, Tuñón is also in the entertainment industry and is a musician who also doubles up as a model.

Theirs was a match made in heaven, and they fought just as hard as they loved. Despite numerous challenges in their relationship, including rumors of a breakup, the couple remained strong in love.

Recently, the pair went through a rough patch after photos of Figueroa kissing a fan surfaced. Tuñón revealed that despite being incredibly upset, she had forgiven him because he had been under the influence of alcohol.

Tuñón is not one to shy away from expressing her love to her husband, and on numerous occasions, she has honored his milestones on her Instagram, including birthdays.

In addition to sharing a love that weathered every storm, the two were also doting parents to a little boy they welcomed in 2017.

Years into their relationship, Figueroa and Tuñón welcomed their only son together, José Julián, in May 2017. At almost six years old, little Julián is a carbon copy of his dad.

From their numerous photos together, posted mostly on Tuñón's Instagram, the resemblance between father and son is undeniable.

A day before his tragic demise, the singer left a cryptic message on his Instagram, alluding to his desire to have his father, who died from cancer in 2015, by his side.

He noted how fast the time had gone since his dad died, accompanying the post with a throwback photo of his younger self holding onto his dad's hand:

"How slowly 8 years have passed since the day you left; time tastes bitter."

In the message, the singer confessed that while time is said to fix everything, it had not eased the pain of losing his father. He cared not for the Grammys, the money, or the fame; all he wished for was to hug his dad one more time.

Even as many now mourn the death of a star, who was slowly following in the footsteps of legendary singer Julio Iglesias, they also find solace in the fact that Figueroa is now reunited with his dad, just as he had wished in his final moments.

Fans took to social media to pay their tributes to their beloved star, with some concluding that he died from the deep sadness of missing his long-departed father.
