'I Took Spring Break a Little Too Literally': Jenna Fischer Shares Health Update after Breaking Her Shoulder
Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam Beesly in "The Office," is dealing with a physical injury for the second time in nearly 16 years. The actress once fractured her back, and now, she's dealing with a broken shoulder.
"The Office" star Jenna Fischer has shared some sad news with her supporters on Instagram. The actress suffered a broken shoulder, but assured fans they won't have to go without "Office Ladies" while she recuperates.
She shared a picture of herself outside, looking less than joyful. Fischer, casually dressed, stands with one broken arm in a sling and the other holding what appears to be a blue bag.
The actress expanded on the apparent ailment in the caption and touched on its effect on her life. "Turns out I took spring break a little too literally. I broke my right shoulder and will be in a sling for the next six weeks followed by physical therapy," she wrote.
Fischer briefly explained that fans won't be impacted by the sudden turn of events that left her without the use of her right arm for now and said, "Luckily we recorded some extra episodes of Office Ladies before we left town. We have a new episode ready for today and it's a good one!"
Fischer co-hosts the podcast with Angela Kinsey. They are both stars of the former production that inspired the podcast, "The Office," with Steve Carell, and uniquely bonded stars, Mindy Kaling and B. J. Novak.
In 2007, the actress reportedly had an accident on a flight of marble stairs at a New York City event during which she sustained four fractured bones in her lower back.
Luckily, the actress steered clear of severe spine injury. She also had the support of her co-star Kinsey, and ex-husband, James Gunn, who is now in a relationship with "Peacemaker" star Jennifer Holland. After the mishap, Fischer was rushed to St. Vincent's hospital, where she spent the night.
At the time, Fischer had to limit her press activities and recover ahead of shooting the fourth season of "The Office."

Fischer's most recognized gig is playing Pam Beesly in the comedy series "The Office" with actors Quincy Jones's daughter Rashida Jones and "Hard Cell" star Catherine Tate in supporting roles. Fischer has earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Emmy Awards for her role in the series.
She was also nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her love for acting began in church when she participated in plays that birthed her affinity for the theatre. After establishing herself as an actress in many projects, Fischer started the podcast with Kinsey in 2019.
