Katie Tyson (née Farquhar) would have celebrated her fifth year in marital bliss as Chris Tyson's wife this year. However, as her husband — chiefly known for co-hosting on MrBeast's channel since 2012 — revealed in a recent Twitter update, their romance ended a little over a year ago.

The couple, who led careers in different fields, had a beautiful family life alongside one another, and despite their split, it doesn't appear to have ended. A few months after their son's birth, Chris announced he was bisexual. Shortly after tweeting about their separation, he revealed he was undergoing gender-affirming care.

Katie and Chris Tyson's Love Story

It's unknown when they started dating or became engaged, but the couple enjoyed a lovely bridal shower in March 2018. By May 12 of that year, they were married. Two years later, in June 2020, the couple welcomed their boy, Tucker Tyson, and the now-four-year-old has his own Instagram profile. On his mom's birthday in July 2021, his dad wrote:

"Happy Birthday to the best Mother, Wife, and Friend I could ever ask for. I love you so much dear [purple heart emoji]."

Katie Tyson and Her Husband Have Separated

In November 2020, Chris publicly came out as bisexual. The blogger had tried coming out as a teen but received a lot of backlash from friends and family. He also hinted at other things that happened that he may go into detail about in the future but maintained that he no longer wanted to be silent about his identity.

Toward the end of March this year, he tweeted about his separation from Katie and said they were "finalizing things soon." Chris asked his followers not to pry into the matter as he wanted to maintain its privacy. Afterward, fans began suspecting he was dating his friend and co-host, Karl Jacobs.

Chris denied the rumors and made light of the situation, saying Karl didn't exactly fit the criteria of his "type." Regardless of the gossip and the split, he and Katie seem to have remained on good terms; the former couple still spends quality time with their son. Just a few weeks ago, Chris commented, "He had soooo much fun!!" under Katie's post (below).

Hormone Therapy Saved Chris Tyson's Life

Two weeks after announcing his split from Katie, Chris revealed he had undergone two months of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), a medication that contains female hormones. As he advocated for letting "people make informed decisions about their own bodies," he shared, "Informed consent HRT saved my and many others' lives."

MrBeast and Karl publicly expressed their support for Chris, who debuted his new look at this year's Kids' Choice Awards alongside his colleagues. The Youtuber is among other celebrities who have been open about undergoing HRT, including Kris Jenner's former spouse, Caitlyn Jenner. Others, such as Rick Astley, Christopher Meloni, and Playboi Carti, are proud allies of the LGBTQ community.
