Marie Osmond’s Namesake Granddaughter Olive Melts Hearts in Checked Dress & Sun Hat in B-Day Pic

After three grandsons from her son Stephen, Marie Osmond could not contain her excitement when she became a grandmother to an adorable little girl. The singer also grew up surrounded by brothers and revealed she felt "orphaned" after her parents' death.

The proud grandmother recently took to Instagram to share a cute picture of her granddaughter in a pink and white chequered dress in honor of the little one's birthday. In the caption, Marie wrote the sweet message, "Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful little granddaughter and namesake Olive! Grandma could not love you anymore!!!!!"

In March 2021, Marie took to Instagram to share the exciting news that her daughter-in-law, Claire Craig, and her son's fourth child would be a girl. "So my darling daughter-in-law, Claire, just announced this, so I can finally share! In a couple weeks… after three boys... Claire will be having a girl!!!!! (sic)," she revealed.

After giving birth to her fourth child, Claire turned to Instagram and shared, "On April 13, 2021, we welcomed Olive Elise Craig to our family. It was the most beautiful day and the craziest delivery, and we are so happy to have her in our family."

In December 2021, the fastly growing family of six posed for Christmas pictures on the beach with little Olive, who was only a few months old and surrounded by three older brothers. And her famous grandmother knew the feeling. Marie was the only girl in a family of eight brothers: Donny Osmond, Virl Osmond, Tom Osmond, Alan Osmond, Merrill Osmond, Wayne Osmond, Jay Osmond, and Jimmy Osmond.

The siblings were raised by their mother, Olive, who passed away in 2004, and their father, George, who passed away in 2007. "Losing my Mom and then my Dad left me feeling "orphaned," if you will, because of my being the only girl in my family (my brothers make lousy sisters)..." Marie admitted.

However, in 2014, the actress joked that she was not "the only girl in (her) family" after all after sharing a throwback picture of her and one of her brothers who could have passed for a girl with his long locks. After welcoming eight children, Marie Osmond became a grandmother to a bunch of grandkids but insisted she isn't a regular grandmother— she's a "fun grandma." "It's like getting your kids back on steroids. You know you get to do all the loving and none of the discipline. It's really fun," she said.
