Susan Lucci’s Fans Are Glad She Looks Happy & Enjoying Life at 77 a Year after Husband’s Death

Susan Lucci considers herself very lucky to have experienced Italian cuisine at a New York City restaurant with the "lovely" celebrity chef Lidia Bastianichon Wednesday night. "So glad you are getting out and enjoying life! You look radiant!" a fan commented.

"Italian dinner on steroids last night at Becco with this legendary chef herself!!!" Susan Lucci captioned the photo of her beaming beside the "MasterChef USA" guest judge.

An "All My Children" viewer asked how she still looks exactly the same as she did on the soap opera, adding, "You look so happy and beautiful, and I love seeing you do fun things."

"I'm so happy to see you out and about and enjoying life! I know this past year has been exceptionally difficult for you, and yet you are living life with such grace and charm, and always with a smile," a comment read.

One theorized that she must be missing her late partner's food. The soap star's husband, Helmut Huber, died last March at 84. The Austrian was a chef and businessman. They were married for 53 years. Lucci has kept the memory of the love of her life alive on social media.

On New Year's Eve, she marked the ninth month of his passing with a photo of him kissing her in a restaurant captioned, "So many happy times together." She shared a meditation book that helped her in her grief, "Healing After Loss," by Martha W. Hickman in August.

Susan Lucci Was "Ashamed" to Speak about Health Scare

Going on "Good Day New York" in February, Lucci revealed that strangers have tried to match her with a new man. She said Helmut Huber had a "very special big presence," and she is not looking to date yet:

"Everybody's different, and I just miss him, and he's worth missing. He was really, really the love of my life."

The ambassador for the American Heart Association initially ignored the symptoms that her heart health was compromised when they started in October 2018, as she had a healthy lifestyle.

A scan later revealed that she had a massive blockage in her heart's main artery, a genetic condition from her dad's side, and had two stents placed. She told PEOPLE:

"I didn't realize how close I came to a fatal heart attack."

A second blockage occurred in January 2021, this time from cholesterol as she has indulged in "comfort food" during the pandemic, which is "not her normal way of eating." Susan Lucci was "ashamed" of herself and almost did not say anything. Yet she spoke out to remind others to "be vigilant."
